I recently adopted Ashton (cat) 6 month old now named (GHOST) The process was fair. I specially loved when they pulled up his medical records! I completely forgot her name so sorry but the lady that helped us was awesome. They don’t yet have a clinic but I hope they get the funding to do so bc there’s nothing better than taking care of your own shelter animals that were adopted for the rest of their lives. Thank you to the staff for all they do specially the volunteer work.

Got rejected as a foster/adoptee because my 4 year old resident dog wasn’t spayed yet even though I was trying to foster/adopt a spayed female. Not sure how the quality of life for any of their animals would drastically be worse at my home than in a shelter. My dog who was never bred has since been spayed but this seemed disrespectful to the decision I made to wait between myself and my dog’s veterinarian. They never even responded after I offered them my explanation. I checked all the other boxes; homeowner, 6 foot fenced enclosed backyard, etc., and really just wanted to share the love that my resident pup was already receiving. Will not be donating or adopting from them in the future.

I am very disappointed with how unwelcoming and how much the staff lacked customer service when I arrived 6/22 around noon. I made eye contact with multiple members of the team but no one wanted to greet me. Their process is very unclear, no signage up in the event that they didn’t want to alert every patron of the process.I completed the application and waited for someone to escort me to the back since that’s the protocol I was told of. I eventually got up and left, it’s ridiculous. I have been fostering dogs for years and finally wanted to make the lifetime commitment and I thought Gus was it! It’s very unfortunate that I wasn’t able to meet him. I don’t even care about animal care league reaching out to me, do better for the dogs and I hope Gus finds a good home!

Came once when it was renovated and it was hard to get in.. there was a worker and granted she was with someone but I waited about 15min and another lady showed up. The worker kept looking at us and she came to open the door but she seemed frustrated which i get if you feel interrupted…. however, something about their process is super unclear and almost unwelcoming. You would think a place that wants their animals to be adopted would be overjoyed to see people who are there to potentially adopt. I’ll also add that this shelter used to have better energy.

I was looking for a special cat to fill out my furry family. I had to put down a 21 year old cat in December and waited until I was ready. The cat I chose was in excellent health, up to date with vaccines and neutered. He is adorable and friendly. And yes, he is disabled from birth. But what a personality and tail. We are calling him Samson, Sami, for short, due to his long locks.

The level of service, care, and professionalism made our experience unforgettable. It's a bustling location, with dedicated staff (volunteers!). We scheduled an appointment, and once we arrived we were attended to immediately. We brought our rabbit along so that he could meet other rabbits, in a safe and controlled environment. An open enclosure was already waiting for us to release him into, when we arrived. LIz was our contact at this facility, and she is more than pro-level! She introduced us to rabbits that we could potentially take home, that day. She then sat with us, and demonstrated what the bonding process would look like, with our rabbit and his future life-mate (Harriet. A beautiful rescue.). Liz was so patient throughout the process. She has nearly two decades of experience raising and bonding rabbits and she gave us well over an hour of her time, at no cost whatsoever. It was a remarkable service, and was a pleasant experience, provided "free of charge". Unbelievable! Liz gave both rabbits a nail trim, as a demonstration to us with detailed explanations of her preferred tools and techniques, before we left. Based on our experience, we adopted our second rabbit, right there and then. We filled out some paperwork, provided identification, and surrendered payment. The process was very streamlined. And we are now blessed with a pair of happy bunnies in our home. The people at this facility aren't doing it for the money, they're doing what they do, for the wellbeing of the animals that need good homes. It's insane to me, that this is a non-profit, because based on the level of personalized service we received, I would beg to pay them. (I don't know where I could find a bunny-bonding/meet and greet service, that I could pay for, that could match the value that we received from Liz and Animal Care League during our brief appointment, for literally FREE! It's like a "concierge for pet purchasing" service. And they should be charging way more for it, in my opinion.) We now wish we would've consulted the team of experts here, before adopting our first bunny. And we will definitely continue to give our business to Animal Care League exclusively, when we next decide to adopt again. I can't thank Liz and Animal Care League enough, for what they've given my family and our new happy household! Well done, and thank you all!
