Love these people!! They truly care about the dogs they rescue! I got my dog here 3 years ago & she is one of the best things to happen to me!! She had 7 babies rescued with her & one of them who never got adopted is still there because they don’t euthanize. I would adopt him if I could; but I feel comforted knowing he is there with these lovely people. I would also love to volunteer here if it wasn’t 2 hours away from my home. Thank y’all for everything you do!!💖

I adopted my first ever dog of my own from them and they made the process so smooth! My little blue heller is a true blessing to me now and couldn’t have been happy choosing to go through with the adoption through them they were so welcoming it felt real homey with them. All the workers were so sweet and so excited about there dogs being adopted. I recommend all my family and friends to go to them when someone is looking for a new dog or even puppies! This is the amazing progress my little man has made just over the year of owning him! Highly recommend!

The staff at Heart of Texas SPCA are devoted to finding the best home for each dog. They assist homeless animals in distress. Some need extra special attention and they do everything they can to help bring that dog to their optimal health and performance before adoption. Their jobs are not easy, but they continue on to do what is best for each one. Love this place! The staff are amazing.

Such an amazing rescue group! The staff and volunteers are a group of caring and dedicated individuals. They do so much for dogs in our area, from the initial rescue to vetting their potential adopters. I can appreciate a rescue that makes sure the right pet is matched to the right family, it just shows how much they care about the dogs in their care, even after they leave the shelter. I could not recommend this group enough!

This small shelter is run by a very dedicated staff, mostly volunteers, who love the dogs in their care and give them the best life possible. They work hard to find homes for dogs who have nowhere else to go. And they provide a safe place for dogs who are more difficult to get adopted due to age, health, or behavior issues. In a state and area with such a huge stray population, Heart of Texas is the difference between life and death for so many dogs.

Heart of Texas SPCA has taken in a lot of strays from the community to keep them out of the local shelter. They carefully vet adopters to ensure that the dog/puppy they are interested in adopting is a good fit for their lifestyles. We, in the rescue community, have found all too often that impulse adoptions end up with the pets being returned - or worse, abandoned - because the adopters didn't understand what responsible ownership entails. Kudos to HOT/SPCA for always making sure the pet's welfare comes first and try to find the best fit for each and every dog/puppy in their care.
