Our first experience at River Heights was when we recently had to put down our beloved cat. Based on this experience, I would highly recommend the place. We plan to return with our dog. The person who took our initial call, the vet tech, and Dr. Anderson were extremely compassionate, thorough, and caring. They made an incredibly difficult time much easier for me and my family. In addition, the place was very clean. We are grateful that we found River Heights.

We have been taking our two dogs and cat here for years. We love all of the staff and both of my dogs love going there, even my cat doesn’t mind it once she’s there! You can tell that each staff member is deeply empathetic to the needs of our pets, but also to our desires and limitations as pet parents. They are always transparent about the cost and provide options. Last year our 6yo dog was throwing up for 12 hours. I called River Heights in the morning when they opened, and they let me know they didn’t have any appointments, but I could drop her off, and they would see her as soon as they had an opening. Within an hour of dropping her off, Dr. Anderson called and let me know that her blood draw was yellow and asked to perform another test. I gave permission and we discovered she was experiencing liver failure. Not only did Dr. Anderson give me all of the options, she was also realistic about the cost. She even called the VCA, got a cost estimate for hospitalization and treatment, confirmed that they had space, and gave us a time frame for how quickly we needed to move if we wanted to save her. River Heights made her transition to the VCA seamless. Even after our dog was admitted, Dr. Anderson called several times to check on her. She is now back to her healthy and vibrant self! Our other dog was Heartworm positive when we adopted him. The Animal Shelter gave us strict rules for treatment and recovery, and River Heights supported us with navigating the course of treatment while honoring the treatment plan laid out by the shelter. They were great at communicating every step of the way in keeping us on the best path to recovery. With their support, our other dog has also made a full recovery and is now a certified therapy dog. One thing I really love is that they treat our dogs as individuals based on their needs, and I never feel judged for the choices I make. Our cat also has high anxiety and they have really helped us explore all of the options for addressing this from adding and removing things in the home to pheromone treatments and cat Prozac. When it comes to our pets, I just really appreciate the transparency and the avoidance of a one size fits all approach! If you’re considering a new vet, River Heights is such an amazing place for pet parents and their pets!

We recently moved to the area and needed to find a new vet. We found River Heights through a google search and brought our dog in for a wellness exam and could not have had a better experience. Our dog has extreme fear aggression at the vet and the whole staff could not have been any kinder and were very accommodating to our dog's needs. Dr. Anderson was incredibly compassionate and thorough and took time to answer any questions we had. The facilities were very clean as well. Would definitely recommend them.

We were recommended by my wife boss. Love the doctor and the staff. Since we have been coming here, we never had a bad experience. The veterinarian has been honest and straight forward with every thing. The staff calls and text messages when your appointment is near. They always follow-up after your pet has been released into your care. I love that. Overall I am pleased and happy.

Eva is wonderful with my pups!! She is so gentle and patient with them. My boys are big guys and she is ALWAYS so good with them. They always come home from their spa day fresh and fluffy!!

We lost one of our sweet cats yesterday. We took her to River Heights for an appointment with Dr Elizabeth Pocius. She was wonderful! The entire staff was great but I cannot say enough good things about Dr Pocius. I wish some of my medical doctors had as good a bedside manner. Thank you Dr Pocius for being so kind during such a difficult time for us.
