We’re so grateful for the friendly staff that helped us after we found a feral injured cat. We were able to bring it to the shelter same day and the intake staff was very patient and kind despite it being obvious how hard they are working. You can tell they’re busting their butts for the animals they care for and we appreciate their hard work.

Beautiful facility and caring staff. I interviewed for a part time animal care position at the York Shelter a few weeks ago. I got a complete tour, and got to help in the cat and dog areas. I was really impressed with both the facilities, and the wonderful staff there! I haven’t heard back on the job, but I honestly was so pleased, that I’m planning to sign up to volunteer after the holidays. If you’re looking for a pet, please check them out. If you’re looking for a way to help the community, volunteer! Please note, as they’re a county government facility, and therefore are required to prioritize stray canines and other mandates, they almost never can take owner surrenders. 10/10, would interview and tour again. :D

I have called them no less than 10 times and they have never answered the phone or returned a message. It's a disgrace that any taxpayer dollars fund this animal control office.

FRAUD, STAY AWAY. Do not buy from here. Bought two cats for $75. One was found by animal control and now we have over $540 of fees From them. ($75 from them and $465 court fees). Learned never to buy a chipped animal ever again. If they cared about the Animals, they would have appreciate us showing up to get them and wouldn’t have charged us $540. STAY AWAY. They are not honest at all. Will tell you something over the phone first just to get you to come and charge double if not triple once you come in. They said my cat was unhealthy. I was required to take it to the vet. Vet bill was $120, vet said nothing was wrong with the cat. Sitting at $660 for this cat. FRAUD

It’s sad that people doing the right thing trying to help the stray cats and dogs of this community are treated the way that they are here. Rude employees that seem to absolutely hate their jobs. I get that this isn’t an easy job, but if it’s that bad, give someone a chance that would actually treat people with respect. We’re here doing a service for our community just like you are. We have been standing at the door for TNR drop off for over an hour, some people with children. All the rules that are in place that we have to follow to get the stray feral animals the help they need, why are there no rules in place to make sure people are served in a timely manner? Although I appreciate you he services for these animals, I don’t appreciate being disrespected nor having to stand outside a door in a line of people with scared animals guessing how long we are going to be standing there waiting for someone to do their job.
