We were going to go here in 2023, but the night before we went was the night the fire happened at the original location. I’m so grateful they were able to find a temporary spot and still help the animals and community. This is actually an amazing place. The staff want you to ask them questions, they want to give you information, and they truly just want to teach you about the animals they help. They not only help there in the community, but they also help other animal communities. They were part of restoring the Lemur population and helping breed lemurs, but we all know Covid happened, so now they have 2 permanent Lemurs on site. One of the staff members actually takes them home every night to care for them.
We recently visited their temporary location and had a wonderful time. Although it was sad to hear they lost the old location to a fire, we are happy to know the new location will be ready soon. There were so many fun animals for the kids to see and learn about. The staff made the best out of the situation they were presented with and provided valuable information about all the animals, making the experience interactive and enjoyable for our family. It's the best $10 per person I've spent in a while! A tip for visitors: don't park in the lot next to the temporary spot; instead, park right in front for free parking. There are only about 4-5 spots available, but it's very convenient. Highly recommend visiting!
My kid's absolutely loved this place. There were quiet a few animals. You could pet the tortoises, the bunnies, and the guinea pigs. We had to pay $10 extra dollars per person to hold the 3 year old alligator for just a few minutes. Which of course my 10 year old wanted to do. We got there as soon as they opened to we got one of the free parking places, but I did see a sign saying to pay to park in the bigger part of the parking lot. It was $12 a person to get in, but my toddler (2) was free. It was a neat place, small, but neat.
Very small place but they make the most out of their space.. they have a ton of reptiles and furry little friends there. Definitely recommend if you’re just trying to find something to do.
Jonathan was great! very personable and knowledgeable. the animals were very well taken care of and the temporary location was still a great set up.
Knowledgeable staff and a unique assortment of exotic animals. Spent quite a bit of time with a large turtle named Rudolph and a colorful 47-year old macaw and didn't feel rushed at all!
