Sadly, after a short illness, we took our hamster Shelly to Dr. Ramsell but it was too late for anything to be done. Dr. R talked us through many different options but in the end we decided to humanely put Shelly to sleep. The office staff was so wonderful during this process as was Dr. R. And I’ve never had a doctor send such a nice sympathy note afterward. She obviously took so much time to write this out and I appreciate it so much!

Our rat died during surgery. I was waiting for over an hour in the parking lot while frantically calling and waiting and dealing with miscommunication amongst the front desk and Dr Burgess only to eventually be told I was waiting for a dead animal and be charged still. I asked them, " you thought it fair that I still have to pay after being mislead about the status of my pet then finding out she'd been dead the whole time I was waiting in your parking lot?" so they told me that they "waved" the cost. Years pass and we contact them again to see if they'd be willing to see our new rats only to find out we've been banned from them unless I pay the price of my rat they killed. I've been coming here since 2016 and I'm astonished that we were treated this way. Shameful. And even though the business is split into two sections I've been banned from the building as a whole from my understanding.

This vet has been very accommodating and thorough with our bunny. We’ve had an awful experience with another vet, but this office has been nothing but wonderful.

Dr. Ramsell is the best vet we have ever had for our ferrets. She saved the life of our sweet baby girl. Going above and beyond to save her. We can never thank her enough.

My panther chameleon came down with an eye infection which I thought was an isolated issue so I made an appointment with Dr. Burgess and his staff. Appointments had a two week wait time which was unfortunate, but the receptionist mentioned that we can potentially bring my pet in on an emergency basis if he started to decline rapidly. However, this ended up not being necessary so I stuck with our originally scheduled appointment. Upon arrival the receptionist had me fill out some standard forms and gave me a very densely packed fact sheet about chameleon care and best practices (presumably authored by Dr. Burgess and his team) which I found to be incredibly informative. The appointment was relatively quick and Dr. Burgess spoke with me at length (30+ mins) about my pet’s condition and correlated the eye issue with mistakes I had been making in the chameleon’s housing and diet. When researching veterinarians in the area, I saw some reviews that remarked/derided the length of these conversations, but I can only conclude that the value of Dr. Burgess’s knowledge and efforts was simply not recognized by these other reviewers. Dr. Burgess was clearly a very intelligent vet with an astounding depth of knowledge in chameleon care, nutrition, and scientific research. Ultimately, Dr. Burgess explained that the eye infection is most likely being caused by an environment that was too cold and nutritional deficiencies. He prescribed an antibiotic ointment for the eye to clear up the bacterial infection and provided clear instructions and information for remedying the other issues to prevent future illness. A minor detail that I noticed when I received my chameleon back was that Dr. Burgess and his team took the time to remove some lingering shed on the chameleon’s snout and head which was unexpected but spoke volumes about the quality of service this team provided. Upon arriving home, I made the necessary adjustments to the chameleon’s cage and diet and it seemed like he bounced back overnight. The chameleon regained his full appetite and became much more energetic, and he underwent a full shed about a week later. However, the eye infection took a few days to resolve and was a bit stubborn, so I gave them a call to follow up and Dr. Burgess quickly prescribed an additional oral antibiotic just to be safe. What you should take away from my review is that Dr. Burgess is a veterinarian that knows what he is talking about when it comes to chameleons. In my opinion, many vets would have examined the eye and prescribed the antibiotic, but I highly doubt that they would have performed an in-depth root-cause analysis the way Dr. Burgess did for my pet. That is a rare and valuable skill, and I highly recommend Dr. Burgess and his team if you have a sick chameleon as a result.

I always take my 2 ferrets and a 4.5ft snake here and they always take such great care of them. Extremely understanding, they hear you out with any concerns. Don't be afraid to ask dumb questions, they'll explain everything to you. They will give recommendations but never force or try to sell you on something, they let you always be the decider for your own animals. If you have exotics, take them here, there's no one better, safer or really worth going to for that matter.
