Description We are foster-based only. No animals are housed at our business address! NBS Animal Rescue is a 100% foster based rescue that is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of healthy, well-balanced, dogs into loving families. Our primary goal is the rescue and rehabilitation of homeless animals in need, focusing on small-breed dogs, generally of older age in the metro Detroit area. Some key components to our rescue mission are as follows: *We spay/neuter every rescue dog in order to help end the cycle of unwanted litters. *We treat each and every dog as if it we our own in order to give it back the respect, love and dignity it deserves. *We maintain the highest standards of care for every dog we come in contact with.

NBS really does wonders with placing small dogs and ensures animals get much needed veterinary care, physical therapy and adaptive equipment. I’ve fostered well over 199 dogs with them over the past decade+ and they always do what’s best for an animal whenever they can

Five+ years ago we had the opportunity to work with NBS to adopt our dog Nikki. I was impressed by how much they knew about her, the vet records, and the thoroughness of the adoption process. NBS has stayed in touch, answered our questions, and responded with kindness when Nikki died suddenly from a brain tumor. We have recommended NBS; others we know describe them as a wonderful, caring organization.
