The staff at Flint Hills Veterinary Hospital are outstanding individuals who took time from their busy schedule to help me with my furry family member. They were amazing at providing me with all of the current regulations in the area we live in. It's been over 10 years since I have seen a group of people who are dedicated to their line of work.

I took my dog in for a dental after receiving a estimate. While I know an estimate is just that, I stated multiple times to various staff that I needed to keep cost on the lower end of this estimate. I was told by the technician at check in that I would be called while my pet was having her procedure with any changes. I have also worked at a veterinary office before where this courteous awareness was given. I was NOT notified of any adjustments and was informed my total cost would be almost DOUBLE what I planned for when called AFTER the procedure. Now, thankfully, I was able to find this money to pay for what my pet obviously needed done but it was a struggle and took from my budget. I write this review so that others who may not have the money set aside to be aware that though their prices seem reasonable in the beginning they may not be at check out!! Also, my dog who went in for her dental came out Limping on her rear leg! I firmly believe something isn't right about that and I'm not getting the whole story. EDIT: Took my dog back in for a recheck from the dental and they tried to charge me an additional $30! To say I'm furious is an understatement! I've never had to pay a dime for a surgical recheck appointment. I can see charging recheck cost for an ear infection or other follow up routine things but never a surgical. My advice: ASK FOR COST FOR ALL APPOINTMENTS AND EXPECT MORE FROM THIS NICKEL AND DIME VET

This was my first visit to this clinic and everyone was very nice. We had Dr. Ebert and she was very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. She introduced herself right away and went straight to business. She gave me time to ask questions and she did not rush me. It was a great first experience. They did stick us in a room that was previously used by a feline and the room was still littered with a pee pad and fur that was still sitting and the exam table. The tech was not acknowledging the mess, but as soon as the Dr walked in she seen it and immediately started cleaning the mess and apologized. Which it wasn't her job to do. She handled the situation professionally and in a manner I respectfully admire. I gave 5 stars because she took good care of the animal I brought in, she got blood on her right away, and helped me with medicine and educating me on what to do going forward. The tech did a good job cleaning out my animals ears. I do recommend this business whole heartedly. They seem to really care which is another reason why they were given 5 stars.

Wouldn't recommend for euthanasia. Took our sweet girl there to be put down and they completely botched the entire process leaving us traumatized. They gave a shot of anesthesia and then tried to do the euthanasia but it took 4 pokes and on the 4th they tried but the medicine bubbled under the skin. They said my dogs blood pressure was too low and that they blew veins. Then they tried to give her a catheter which failed 3 more times and on the 4th time they finally got it. My dog got poked 8 times when it could have all been avoided if they gave her a catheter before the anesthesia and gave the euthanasia medication through that. During the process 2 vets and I'm assuming 2 vet techs helped. No one kept us informed. They made the entire thing uncomfortable. We walked out in shock! They said sorry and that was it. I hope no one else has to experience this!

Dr. Ebert I was interrogated, shut down and judged by a simple miscommunication from the front desk to the doctor. I'm extremely worried about my pet's health, hence why I took her there in the first place. Not only was I upset about my pet's risks, but also investigated on on why she hasnt been to the vet in the past years when we were directly told by our vet it was deemed unnecessary... Dr. Ebert implied that my pet was also under weight. Though I appreciate them taking us in the same day I recall the rudeness, and the doctor's unforgivable attitude in judgment without acknowledging the situation makes me never to go back again and spend my money and provide my pet's care elsewhere. ,( Don't want a reply back... Update: (facts) Setting feelings aside from my first appointment, I wanted to give them another try to care for my pet and because they have already seen her. I went in with the intentions to conduct business and caring for my pet with oral complications that Dr. Ebert agreed to do surgery the day of. When Dr. Ebert came in to see us, I simply wanted to discuss about rejecting the heartworm test because I didnt think it was deemed necessary and because I know my cat. Dr. Ebert, agitated, recommended that my pet needed a heartworm test, she mentioned its not an option.. She was forceful about her 'argument', and gave a lot of scare tactics about my pet dying without the heartworm test because 'one little worm in her heart can cause a blood clog and kill her' she claimed during the surgery process. Dr. Ebert said she will not provide care without the heartworm test. I didn't know whether if I shoud've taken it as a threat, considering her previous reviews about misdiagnosing and killing animals is overwhelming. Dr. Ebert recommended me to sign a formal documentation (waiver) stating that if anything happen to my pet after the surgery that I would be fully responsible of my rejection to doctor's recommendations. Shortly after, without being able to process it right away, Dr. Ebert excuses the assistant from the room; I am left alone with the doctor. The doctor began to question me about the negative review posted online 6 days prior, and why I couldnt talk to her about it, "I felt disrespected.", she implied. This set an uneasy feeling to my stomach for the doctor to be bringing up before my pet's surgery. At that point, FROM MY PERCEPTION, it wasn't about the well-being of my pet, but her business. When put in that situation, it reveals one's character. I simply said that I wouldn't want anyone to experience what I felt from the first appointment. I'll reiterate: meaningless gestures to the assistant were made, making inaccurate assumptions about the lack of care for my pet- previously from the lack of communication, or maybe the lack of listening, dont know. After a few exchanges of words between us, still alone in the room, it was utterly uncomfortable, and mentioned that the appointment is going downhill multiple times; that did not pursuade her to stop with her aggressive demeanor. I apologized, but never did she apologize for my experience in the first or second time around. Her last words were "Good luck recieving care somewhere else". It would have shown respectable professionalism on the doctor's side, and good earned business if she had approached me with empathy and understanding in this stressful situation for my pet and my family. Now she's left with another bad review, and a loss of business. I'm so appalled by the doctor's behavior. I promised her I would leave another review today. God bless you all and your business. I apologize for any disrespect. I don't trust or like her demeanor. P.S. I went to a different vet in Manhattan and the Vet doctor specifically said they don't test heartworm in cats for any oral complications and that my cat looked healthy. I would've been amazingly overcharged for unnecessary reasons due to my bad review, or personal matters, and perhaps risking losing my pet due to malpractice, overmedication, etc. Take your furry friend elsewhere, please!!!
