Black Mountain Animal Hospital has truly been a life saver when searching for veterinary care! Dr. Polo and the staff are absolutely amazing at what they do. After my parents dog Kingsley had a traumatic experience at a VCA, we thoroughly searched for a more welcoming place to take him. One of my friends highly recommended their hospital in Rancho Penasquitos so my parents drove all the way from Chula Vista for an appointment. Kingsley was anxious when we first arrived, but Dr. Polo came in with his assistants and helped calm him down during his visit. He was genuinely cared for and spoiled with treats, and feels comfortable now when he goes back in for checkups. The team at Black Mountain Animal Hospital does a great job at creating a welcoming atmosphere which helps with setting up appointments and coming back for treatment. I definitely recommend this place to other pet owners looking for an animal hospital that genuinely cares for animals while truly taking their time to properly address their needs.

*update*: called to get a super last-minute appointment for my puppy today because i noticed he was bleeding from his testicles. i was super worried that it would be something serious, but thanks to the quick booking and efficiency at the clinic, he was seen within 20mins of me making his appointment. Bean has gotten more anxious and barks when interacting w new humans but everyone at the clinic was so kind and loving towards him that I genuinely cannot imagine taking him elsewhere. Nathalia, Destiny, and Carolyn (as well as the vet obv) always make it a little less stressful for both me and Bean. 20/10 recommend 😊✨ 6 months ago: Everyone has been so great and nice to my little puppy!

We've been routinely taking both our dogs to Black Mountain Animal Hospital for about 3 years now. Luckily, it's only been for routine shots and yearly exams.
