Description At Healing Paws Veterinary Hospital, we are passionate about providing exceptional veterinary services, care, and support to promote the long-term health and well-being of your animal companion. We welcome not only dogs and cats, but also exotics, such as small companion mammals and reptiles. We have extensive experience with geriatric patients and take the time to work with you to create the best quality of life and nurture graceful aging. With access to in-house laboratory, digital radiography, and dental radiography, we can complete timely diagnoses and develop treatment plans tailored to you and your animal’s needs.
We recently relocated from Upstate NY to the Hillsborough area and have been looking to establish our ‘fur crew’ with a practice that is local. Ironically, over the last 4.5 weeks, several of our colleagues and new neighbors highly recommended HP’s and now we know why. The care truly is phenomenal and everyone is so pleasant. And added ‘Bonus Points’: The office was very clean and the various artwork throughout is just perfect! We were in the office yesterday w/ both of our dogs (our 2.5 year old male yellow lab named ‘DUKE’ and his 4 month old little sister who is a Golden Doodle named Maple-Mae! Our appointment went very well; we saw Dr Kat for both dogs’ appointments (which was great because I love the idea of trying to keep the same provider for routine visits just for ‘continuity of care’. I was so impressed that Dr Kat started the visit by taking the first few minutes of the appointment time to not only introduce herself to me, but she then literally got on the floor and she played with both pups for a bit before doing their full assessments and required vaccines etc. I think her ‘method’ clearly worked well as both dogs seemed to trust her and Duke didn’t display any s/s of being anxious or anything which was great to see! After she took time to play with both pups, we discussed our goals of care and she also answered some questions for me. Needless to say, we absolutely loved our initial visit to Healing Paws and we will definitely be returning! Thanks again for everything! You truly have established such a wonderful practice that is ‘the full package deal’ and a ‘one stop shop’ which will work perfectly with our hectic schedules. Thanks again for treating our babies as if they are/were your own.
Just took my bunny here for the first time. They were extremely knowledgeable and professional. They explained everything in detail to me and answered all my questions. My rabbit is pretty difficult at the vet and they handled her well even though she was fighting them. All around excellent experience and I know my fur baby is in good hands here
I have been taking my dog here for the last few years since we moved to the area. The regular vet visits at Healing Paws was similar to past visits at other practices but everyone Ive interacted with at the location was nice and helpful. Healing Paws started to show their true colors over the last few months when my dog was diagnosed with a terminal condition, and I will say 100% Healing Paws is one of the most compassionate and respectful vet practices Ive dealt with. The vet that assisted me was nice, helpful and always willing to work with me to figure out the best plan of care for my dog. Our family sadly lost our dog recently, and Healing Paws was so nice every step of the way and helped us make sure his last days were as comfortable as possible. Since they treated my dog with respect and comfort on his last day, I wanted to leave a review in case you need a vet. I would 100% recommend this practice to anyone with any type of animal, and they will have my business in the future.
I love this place! I adopted a very reactive dog (to animals, not people) and they always accommodate him without making me feel bad. He loves coming to the vet (I know, he's a derp). Thank you for loving my Drake and all the help you provide us!
I took one of my small animals to healing paws because they also advertise themselves as an exotic pet vet, the staff was kind but seemed very unknowable about small animals. After 2 visits and almost $500 they told me to go to another exotic pet vet because they didn’t know what was going on. Overall I wasn’t very happy and unfortunately because I chose not to go straight to avian and wasted my time here my pet passed a few days after her last visit.
I have not had the best experience with Healing Paws Veterinary Hospital. The communication isn’t good and the prices seem to be high. My last bad experience was when I tried to have my dog’s teeth cleaned. I took my 3 year old poodle to Healing Paws at the end of December for her yearly check up. I was told that she would need to get her teeth cleaned. I called the first week of January to schedule this. When I called, the receptionist told me that she doesn’t schedule these types of appointments and someone from the OR team would call me back. She said it may take up to 2 weeks for them to call me because they were backed up. After 3 weeks went by and I hadn’t heard from them, I called them back. They told me that they didn’t have any record of me calling. They finally got that straight and got me scheduled to come in for the cleaning. On the day of the procedure, I took my dog in, signed some papers and headed to work. About 30 minutes later, I got a call from Healing Paws to let me know that they couldn’t do my dog’s procedure because one of their OR techs called out. I totally understand that other surgeries were more important than a routine dental cleaning, but it was still a big inconvenience for me and my dog. I had to rearrange my work schedule which is nearly impossible and go into work late and leave early to pick her up before they closed. They told me they wouldn’t charge me to keep her for the day since I couldn’t come pick her back up (Gee, thanks!🤣) And they also told me they would offer a slight discount of 20% off of the dental cleaning portion of the procedure. The dental portion of the procedure is $98, so 20 % of $98 is $18. I was quoted close to $1000 for her procedure so offering me an $18 discount is insulting. I haven’t been impressed with Healing Paws since taking my then puppy there 3 years ago. I only stayed because it was close to my house and luckily my dogs are young and healthy so they don’t have to go to the vet very often. This last incident was the icing on the cake. I will take my $1000 and go elsewhere to a vet that cares about their clients and not money.
