I adopted a stray kitten (~4 weeks) that had been abandoned by its mother and was in poor health and very malnourished. Less than a day after taking her in I awoke to the kitten having taken a sharp turn into critical condition. She was cold, lethargic, and her eyes had sealed completely with pus. At 3 AM on a holiday (Pioneer Day) I made a call to Mountain West asking questions and making sure they would be able to see her given the date and time. They informed me that given the circumstances they were working with a skeleton crew and there were already quite a few patients they were treating. We arrived just before 4 AM and upon seeing the kitten they stated that she was much more critical than they had initially anticipated and they immediately took her into their care. They discussed options with me before anything had begun and were very transparent with the pricing and the process. The vet called me two separate times to keep me updated and verify that I would be ok with the various treatments as they arose. They were professional, kind, and compassionate. They gave me very clear discharge instructions, medications, and even provided some of the food that they found out she was very fond of during her stay. They 100% saved my new cats life. Its been a couple of days since her stay and she is now thriving. She has put on weight, is full of energy and back to enjoying life the way a kitten should. I am very grateful for the team there and absolutely plan to bring her back for any future treatments she may need.

My experience with Mountain West Veterinary on a 1-10 scale, 10 being most excellent is a (10+++) My precious little Pomeranian, Peanut, came up suddenly on Friday evening with symptoms of being lethargic with no interest in eating his dinner followed on Saturday with vomiting and diarrhea with blood in it. By Sunday afternoon, the symptoms continued so I referred by a good friend to bring him here to Mountain West Veterinary. The service we both received here from the veterinary staff and the doctor was most pleasant, professional and they showed genuine concern for the well being & comfort of my Pomeranian. We were checked in, evaluated & treated as needed, checked out and sent home with the medication needed to further treat & provide comfort at home for Peanut all within 45 minutes! Much to my surprise, taking into account this took place on a Sunday afternoon, the cost of this emergency visit was very reasonable! I left going home being reassured in knowing that Peanut will soon be feeling much better and I will get some solid peaceful sleep tonight 😊

Mountain West Veterinary specialty clinic deserves more than five stars. We have three fur babies and through the past five years each one of them have had their turn going there due to an emergency. Mila got stung by a wasp and went into anaphylaxis they saved her life. Luna ate a teabag. She became very sick fast she was vomiting and shaking. I called and let them know what had happened they promptly came out and got her they took her back and kept us posted every step of the way. They monitored Like N.A. for hours to make sure she was ok to come home. We were so grateful for everything they did to save her. Bug ( Rugby ) was our 11 year old elderly pug that had been having some health issues we had been taking him to his primary vet for months and giving him different medications when nothing was working and his health continued to declined. He didn’t look well and he passed out so we rushed him to the clinic the care and compassion that was shown to us when we arrived they took Bug back right away and told us it could take up to a couple hours to assess him but within 15 minutes the vet came in and told us he was not doing well we opted to do further tests that led to his diagnosis of cancer. We were devastated to say the least but every staff member we came in contact with was so helpful, kind and truly cared. We never felt rushed to make a decision. We opted to take Bug home for a couple hours of family time so we could love on him and go through the jack in the box for his favorite chicken fingers . We returned to the Clinic a couple hours later and we were greeted by the most compassionate staff. Having to put your precious fur family member down due to a terminal illness is so hard but I have to say the staff helped us through such a painful loss. I appreciate each and every one of them .

Our cat had an emergency a few weeks ago. Berlyn comforted us when we had to leave him. ****Dr. Stacy*** quickly figured out the problem- ridiculously smart- and DIDN’T DO ANY UNNECESSARY TESTING!!!!!! This sold us- for the rest of our animals lives. The cost was completely fair- better than we expected. She explained the issue and got us all taken care of and our cat is better than before!!!! Fast forward to Monday- we had to take our dog copper in for an emergency and AGAIN they came through for us 100%. Geniuses. Sweet. Wonderful. Kind. Caring. Please reward these people: Dr Stacy, Naomi Guzman, Mark Langheinrich, Dr. Burton, Berlyn, Ceilidh, Destiny, and a girl with the coolest tongue piercings and top lip piercing who I didn’t get her name but please find her and reward her!!

Dr. Burton and his staff are the very best! They are very empathetic to our feelings and understanding. They showed compassion and empathy to Katniss and her pain. She had to have surgery on her hip which will alter the way she walks the rest of her life. She to was very impressed and felt comfortable, giving the staff little nibbles of appreciation for helping her. I highly recommend Dr. Burton and Mountain West Veterinary!

They took such incredible and detailed care of my sweet baby, Amoré! She had to be admitted for a few days and the doctors and doctors assistants kept us in the loop the whole time. We talked to them on the phone several times a day with all of the updates on our kitty’s health. She had around the clock care, and they found a couple of different diagnosis, when our typical vet saw her twice in a span of a few days and quickly dismissed her symptoms and our concerns both times. Also, BUFFY NEEDS A RAISE! Buffy was so sweet and real with us. Buffy was always cheerful on the phone with us and when our kitty was released. Buffy even told us about how they loved Amoré and they could tell she wasnt herself when we first brought her in, but when she started feeling better, they told us some details about her personality that gave us comfort that she was being well cared for and well-loved. It was clear to us that Buffy and the staff were treating Amoré as if she was their own and I couldn’t express my gratitude enough for that. THANK YOUUUUU!!!!
