My vet recommended AVS after my cat was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism for the radioiodine treatment. Dr. Loyd and her staff were kind, straightforward, and answered all of my questions. Tech Janet was whom I spoke with at the consultation and during my cat's stay at AVS and she is a true gem! My cat is weary of anyone outside of our household and they were so kind and accommodating to him and providing me updates throughout his time there. It made me feel reassured that not only he was getting the treatment but also by people who truly care. Over a month post-procedure and my lil' buddies levels show that he no longer has Hyperthyroidism! Beyond grateful to the AVS team and that we have a facility in St. Louis that provides this treatment.

This place saved my pups life, words cat express how grateful and thankful I am for them, my dog wasn’t feeling to well and I called his vet but they wasn’t open do to an ice storm so they recommend this place on here answering machine. I called and was abled to be seen within the next 30 mins. What I thought was something as small as an upset Stomach turned out to be an emergency surgery needed. I really wasn’t prepared for that news but had to get with it for the sake of my baby boy. They kept me updated on him and made sure they didn’t send him home until he ate something. I want to thank Dr. Henson for performing his surgery and taking extra care of my baby. He was very informative and overall a great doctor. You can tell he loves animals. Dr Loder for answering all my questions I had while bricks was there, and all the vet tech & nurses who took great care of my baby boy. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! He’s currently resting right now, and is happy to be home. Next up is the road to recovery!!

I can't express how happy we are with how they treated our dog, Copper. Our general Vet recommended them to us when he came down with a serious case of pneumonia. After the first round of antibiotics from our vet didn't work, he was very weak, wouldn't eat, and we were terrified he wouldn't make it through the next day. Copper had to be placed on oxygen and was at AVS without us for 7 days, and had to be transferred to an animal hospital during the weekend then returned here Monday. Now Copper is back home with us, still on oxygen, but getting better every day. AVS took every phone call, let us go back and visit him in the ICU every day he was there and answered every 100 questions and concerns we had. I would just like to thank Dr Lloyd, the other vets, nurses and techs that worked with us and helped get Copper home.

Dr. Lloyd and her receptionist Linda are some of the WORST people in the business. Linda is ver rude and customer friendly she will put the phone down while you are speaking and be rude as all get out when she finally picks the phone up. She also comes off racist and prejudice. THIS ESTABLISHMENT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ANIMALS they only care about money! IF YOU CARE ANYTHING ABOUT YOUR PETS DO NOT BRING THEM HERE!!!

I don't really do reviews, especially one where I have to talk about putting my baby to sleep... but the crew there made me feel so much love and comfort about the decision I had to make. It was the hardest thing I had to do and I'll miss him every single day... I still feel guilty about it and haven't forgiven myself, but everyone here was so caring and understanding and very honest with me and thats something I can appreciate. You guys are an amazing team, but I hope I don't have to come back here again 😢 RIP Odin, my adventurous, loving, funny, protective, handsome and very talkative baby boy 😊, mommy & daddy loves you forever & always 🖤🤍 08/2020-12/2023

PLEASE TAKE YOUR ANIMAL ELSEWHERE! I took my cat here for a radioactive iodine treatment for his hypothyroidism. His initial physical, where they check his vitals and do blood work, I wasn't allowed back in the room. I made it clear I wanted to go back and they said it's against their policy bc animals tend to be LESS scared when their owners aren't by them during this physical. I said me and my cat would be more comfortable with me back there. They denied my request. RED FLAG. They denied any knowledge of any resources or assistance in paying for this treatment that was apparently an emergency. They just raised the prices the month prior. After 20 minutes of me crying wondering how I'm going to pay for this, a lady gave me papers with a list of places to reach out to. Why hide that for so long? Fast forward to me dropping him off on a Monday night for his treatment the next morning. I also had to provide food for him for the 3 nights he'd stay. You would think that spending about TWO THOUSAND dollars they'd provide food. They called me Tuesday morning to let me know the treatment went well. I called several times Tuesday afternoon and evening & no response. I left voice-mails and eventually texted and called the emergency line. Which was BLOCKED. They told me I could call at ANY TIME to check on him so with it being after hours shouldn't be a problem since there's nurses there all night that are supposed to check on the patients every 4 to 6 hours. (I made it clear I would be calling to check in every few hours after office hours) I woke up Wednesday morning with no missed calls or texts from them. Still no update on my cat! For over 24 hours! So I call again and the lady said "I got your voice-mails but I emailed you bc I didn't want to wake you up since yesterday at 11 you said you just woke up." I said "I haven't gotten any emails and I stated calling was my preferred communication. You don't know my schedule and I don't feel like that's your place to determine whether or not to call. When in the voice-mail I was BEGGING AND CRYING for someone to call me back since I hadn't gotten any answers or updates since the first call in the am." She said she should have called and the emergency line is no longer active. Wouldn't you think that's something ya'll should update or communicate with patients owners?!?!? This was an extremely traumatic experience for me and my cat. Unfortunately they said the only other place that does this treatment is in Columbia. If I'd known how most of the staff would be, I would have made the drive. I'm extremely disappointed and furious with this whole experience. For an animal "hospital " they're closed half of the week. This isn't even everything. I'm just still in Shock.
