I have adopted two dogs from Lamancha over the past 12 years. They paired me with my soul dog, Butterfly in 2012 after a painful loss of my childhood dog. She has been nothing but a joy since I brought her home (after she aged out of her puppy phase 🤪). Years later, we were looking for a pal for Butterfly and were in contact with Alexis about finding a match. Alexis allowed us to bring Butterfly to meet some candidates and we ended up adopting Brandy the day after Christmas 2017. These two have been peas in a pod ever since! Rescuing pets can be challenging, but that’s the whole point of rescue. If you’re looking for an easy, maintenance-free, perfect pet, stop looking for a pet. Having realistic expectations about the ups and downs of pet ownership is the only way to rescue responsibly. Rescue workers are mistreated on a daily basis for doing the best they can for the animals. Lamancha is a wonderful rescue and I recommend them to as many people as I can. My advice to anyone looking for a rescued pet: Do your research about how to handle introductions, how long it takes for animals to decompress, and how much vet bills will cost you BEFORE you adopt. Treat everyone with kindness, even if you don’t get your way. I love my girls deeply and am so thankful that Lamancha gave them a chance.

I adopted my dog from LaMancha and she’s been great! She was everything they said she would be , easy going , friendly, good with kids, and not the best with cats but good with other dogs. I met a couple of ladies at an outdoor adoption event and they had a dog with them (my dog now ) and the adoption process was stress free. Not like other places I had previously looked at. When I can I will definitely adopt from LaMancha again , they have some of the best volunteers and people taking care of those sweet animals.

I’m beyond grateful for Lamancha even though I didn’t adopt an animal from there. Instead, they took one without hesitation that was in desperate need of help. We were completely out of resources and the SPCA wouldn’t help nor did valley township due to not having a contract with one another. And the SPCA refused the dog after my neighbor driving her there due to my address being in valley township. The SPCA and valley township need to do better. Thank you for helping this sweet girl

We had a beautiful stray dog hang around our home for days. Every rescue I contacted was full or would not respond to phone calls or emails. I contacted Lamancha and Dru got back to me quickly. He was professional and was also concerned for the dog. The facility was beautiful and the animals looked well cared for and loved. Fantastic experience and exceptional communication!

We recently volunteered at La Mancha animal rescue and this place is amazing! The animals are all so well cared for with air conditioning, and volunteers always here to play with them. The grounds are beautiful with roses and flowers everywhere and everyone is so friendly and loves animals. What a great experience!

What amazing people working there. Alexis, Jeoff, Drew. And so many amazing volunteers who help take care of animals. I don’t like write the reviews, but this time I feel that I have to. At first I was reading negative comments about La Mancha where people complain about dogs to have hearth warms and kennel cough. I was shocked. How does peoples can take care of dogs ?! Why at first place they want a dog? They want a toy?! Dogs are like us. They can be sick also and so what, We adopted from La Mancha Mika , and , yes, she had pneumonia. We took care of her gladly and we are not rich people. You adopt the dog to take care of him or her as of your own family. If you can’t assume this responsibility , please don’t even think to adopt. La Mancha is doing what they can. They rescue animals from other states in horrible conditions for save they lives . What do we do? Nothing. We failed, La Mancha - not. ( Mika and Sacha on the pics.
