Project Dove staff/volunteers unfortunately have seen many types of Domestic Violence, Mental,Emotional & Verbal Abuse Victims come threw their doors over the years..from the time the victim finally makes the phone call or rings the door bell for help, they are greeted with compasionate open caring arms..staff that's highly trained from real life experiences & situations & will always protect and fight to help the victim have a better life. No longer a victim, but a SURVIVOR!

I was in a difficult situation last year and project dove helped me with shelter. The staff is amazing they make you feel welcomed and the place felt safe. We will forever be greatful for the ladies who helped me and my children in our situation. They were always looking out for you. Thank you, Project Dove. You ladies are amazing. God bless you all. I do not recommend this agency if you are from out of the area. Why do I, the victim of domestic violence, need to explain to staff that women leave the city, county, area, and state of the abuser and where the abuse happens EVERYDAY. It's normal to run as far as you can to get safe. Yes that's often just across town or the next town over. But it's not uncommon to run across state lines or multiple times in 18 months because you've been found. And to insinuate that I'm lying about my NCO because mine is from another state and is for 5 years, just because they don't issue them here for 5yrs, even after I explained that mine is from another state and is 5years AND IT'S VALID IN EVERY STATE? Then they continued to try to insist that I waste everyone's time and file a police report here and file for a new NCO. No I don't and the officer will tell you the same thing, the abuse and threats did not happen here, there's nothing to file here. The judge will ask why I need a new NCO when my current one is still valid for 3.5 years across the whole US. Quit insisting that just because you've never heard of it or dealt with it, that is a lie or I don't know what I'm talking about. Shame on you for revictimizing the victim. Not OK. The advocates job is to help you feel safe and valid, and to help you find additional resources when they can not help you. Their job is NOT to further verbally batter you. I feel bad for all the other women who have been treated badly from this place but are afraid to speak up. We'll I'm speaking up. Shame on these people!
