My experience in this place was good in almost all its aspects, some employees are rude when they realize that you don't speak English, but also other employees do their best to understand you and answer your questions, we had a process of more or less 15 days to find our cat son but every stage of this was exceptional... the fee I paid was $30 dollars for his adoption and his chip was included, vaccines were up to date and sterilized, today we are very happy with our beloved Valentine, thank you for your exceptional work!

Me and my friend came to adopt a puppy from this shelter on 11/2/24 because she had been planning on getting one for a while, and was very excited about saving an animal and giving it a good home. The day we came we searched through all the units of kennels looking for the one for her. The kennels were over crowded with some kennels being filled with 3+ dogs at a time, which is no condition any animal should live in. They had more than enough kennels empty and open to allow some dogs to stay in. Many dogs looked sickly and ill, some were stressed and overstimulated with the environment probably due to the fact how crowded it was. We found many puppies that looked only a couples week old with their eyes barely open, and their papers had said they were a couple months old which was a complete lie. When She finally found a puppy she wanted to take home we waited in line and over looked his papers. He only had 2 things checked off which was he had ONE VET EXAM and that he was nutered. The puppy had a slight cough but was nothing major. On the 3rd day he started to decline quickly. His coughs were worst to the point he was struggling to breathe. He had diarrhea and wasn’t eating. We took him the vet and we discovered he had both upper and lower respiratory infections. Sadly we had to return him that day because he was too sick and my friend didn’t want to watch him pass away. We met other people in line for the same reason of being sick that they had to return their animal. The fact that these shelters don’t take responsibility and watch for animals that have major issues like this is very disturbing to me. If he already had a vet check why didn’t they see these issues early on? I truly feel like some of these shelters are only in it for the money and not for the animals themselves. I do not recommend getting an animal here if your looking for something that is healthy this isn’t the place for you. Very disappointed with this experience and will not be coming back sadly.

Adopted this wonderful girl from the OKC Animal Shelter last year, and she's been wonderful. She was brought in as a stray, so there was no background on her, except she was about 4 months old. Adoption was easy. I believe that due to their overcrowding, she had caught an upper respiratory infection, and she was emaciated. They treated her for the URI, and we were able to get some weight on her. She just turned a year old a few days ago, and she's doing great now and is happy with her brother and sisters.

I just recently adopted a terrier mix. The guy at the front desk was so helpful and nice I wish I would've gotten his name. He usually sits in the middle. He made our experience so nice we are considering another adoption. You can tell He genuinely cares for these animals. I am so grateful for our new fur baby Lola

At first I went a few times and some of the kittens weren't available I was a little disappointed but then I never gave up and I continue to go to look for a kitten that I so much wanted and I did this every weekend, finally I came across a kitten that I wanted this took time so if you're looking for a kitten you may not find it the very first day you go there but you will find one just keep going! These animals need a home. It may have a bad smell there but the workers there are few and they try to keep it clean as possible and get donations which is great! Think about the animals they need homes and they are taken care of. Here's a picture of the cat that I adopted which is my second one that I adopted there and I am well pleased he's a beautiful perfect Tabby with a gorgeous coat! His name is MIRO TIGER Only thing I can say is I wish they could start answering their phones. LOL 💗

Very confused about their hours. Google says they’re open from 2-5pm on Sundays, but when you call it automatically goes to a voicemail that says their office isn’t open. If you press the extension to listen for hours, it says that they’re open for adoptions from “noon - 5 pm seven days a week” , except major holidays. Their actual website then notes that they are closed on Sundays. Update: They are closed on Sundays! When I got there around 3:15 pm, several people also tried to get in but the doors were locked. Hopefully they update their hours on google and their voicemail!
