Threaten to shoot our dog when she not an aggressive dog she a German Shepard. But she so calm and sweet other dogs on the street still loose and doesn’t do anything but stay harassing us just cause of their breed.
Had 2 german shepherd pups that I found on the road and absolutely had the most rude and least empathetic man dispatched to me. Did not care about the dogs in the least, did not want to hear about them, only wanted to save his time.
Thank you for your kindness and caring for the animals you shepherd. And THANK YOU for our Eleanor!
THE BIGGEST WASTE OF TAX PAYERS MONEY. They do absolutely nothing to help any issues. We have called multiple times about the same issue and we are told, just let the dogs run around we will “try” to get ahold of the owners (they know who the owner is by the way). We have been told “can you just take care of the dog until someone can come out” and every single time (which has been about 5 times now) someone comes out they tell us there is nothing they can do due to animal shelter capacity. The terrible owners are not held responsible, these dogs are malnourished and have no shelter from what we have seen. We are unable to take care of our own pets to the fullest in fear of the stray dog causing issues. We have tried to take care of this dog to the best of our abilities, but it is too cold outside (8 degrees)for this dog to be left outside without proper shelter. DO BETTER WHITFIELD COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL. This is UNACCEPTABLE.
So it’s a mixed review. I have only called twice to speak with them on different things. It seems like the experience is based on who is working. I spoke with a man who was tentative, knowledgeable and kind. The second time I called I spoke with a woman who seemed annoyed that I was calling and extremely inconvenienced, she maintained a condescending tone that made it clear that she did not want to be bothered.
I was under the impression that in the event that one finds a stray dog, you call animal control for the proper assistance on what steps to take. The dispatch woman who answered the phone was very rude and blunt. She very shortly informed me that the shelter is full and to contact the humane society and hung up on me. Not sure how our local animal shelters expect these animals to find safe homes when the public tries to get them out of the streets. Very glad I received literally no information or help.
