Description We are the stray holding facility for Clackamas County. We offer our dogs for adoption once the holding period has expired and after we have assessed them for behavior issues, have made sure they are healthy, and that they are up to date on rabies vaccinations. They are also spayed or neutered prior to leaving our facility and licensed with the County. Our officers only respond to complaints from other residents. They do not drive around looking for issues. Our job is to keep the animals and people of Clackamas County safe. Clackamas Dogs Foundation is a separate, 501(c)3 organization that supports some of the programs at Clackamas County Dog Services. The Shelter is closed on Saturday, Sunday and all major holidays!

My last review was deleted probably on behalf of this organization despite getting a number of likes. They discriminate against families with children. Every dog I have seen on her for years has said no children or no children under a certain age. Despite that they will take you $10 fee. I went in here years ago and looked at a smaller older dog that was pretty chill and didn't say only for for children over a certain age. They had us come back and meet with someone. The dog and children got along but they lady that makes the decision had a bias against dogs going to ones with kids. She admitted she wouldn't place any dogs with my younger kids at the time. I have been looking at their site on and off for years and now all dogs have a no children under a certain age warning

website says they will help you with strays, not the case if you call in. Lady working could of not give any care on 7.31. 0 information provided too.

This is the second dog we have adopted from CCDS and we couldn’t be more happy. Samuel Beans is the light of our lives! He is the sweetest, most well behaved little guy. I am so thankful that the technician directed our attention towards him rather than the extremely excited kelpie - Samuel Beans fits our lifestyle so well and I am so thankful that the technician recognized he would be a great fit for us. Literally BOTH dogs we have gotten from here have been SO sweet and so gentle and so loving and both times it was because the technicians took time to listen to us and our lifestyles and help us pick the perfect family member. Thank you!!! ♥️

RUDE … I have fostered dogs for 14 years, but some lady in the office just kept arguing with me I was wrong about certain things with new dogs in the home. It has never been my experience with any of my fosters and I was trying to tell her that.!!RUDE

Rude and unprofessional. They harassed my sister and left a nasty voicemail for her all because they couldn't be bothered to check their system properly. Such a waste of tax dollars and the additional fees charged to license a dog.

I have adopted 2 dogs from Clackamas county and have been very happy with my adoptions. They care about the dogs they have and make sure they are going to good homes with their adoption counselors. My last dog adoption was Clarissa and they had her for 6 months taking care of her and bringing her back to health and she is now an awesome dog that's enjoying life on earth. Keep up the great work all the employees and volunteers do there!
