Description In 2018, we became an official nonprofit animal rescue. Our rescue efforts have been in place for many years prior to 2018, with our goal always being the welfare of animals. We focus on animals that need the most help - those that are sick, injured, elderly, feral, or need extensive medical care.
I just volunteered here a few days ago and it is a wonderful place. Kaitlin loves these animals and takes such good care of them. She puts everything into this shelter and caring for these animals. It was an honor to volunteer and see all of the love she puts into this shelter. Her animals are healthy and well cared for by her and her team of loving volunteers. I highly recommend this place for volunteering/ donating/ adopting. I wanted to add to my review that I adopted two kittens yesterday and we are in love. Thank you Kaitlin for your hard work and saving these precious kittens and letting us adopt them. Our family is so happy . Kaitlin works so hard to take care of these animals and find them loving homes.
Rise Above Animal Rescue is the best rescue ever. I have adopted, donated, fostered, & volunteered at events and with transport. Every experience with the rescue has been great. The owner of the rescue Kaitlin is so sweet & knowledgeable. Rise Above also takes in difficult medical cases that other rescues and shelters would turn away. They truly do everything they can to help all animals.
RAAR has exceeded any expectations I had for a rescue. These people not only care about you, but your animal(s). I mean, they REALLY CARE. They are the definition of compassion and care. I adopted my sweet Lemon Lou this past Sunday and she became suddenly ill. Not knowing where to turn, I contacted Kaitlin and she advised me of what to do. She then went and actually picked up my cat from my home and took her to the vet, as I was unable to at the particular time. If that isn’t quality care, I’m not quite sure what is. She kept me updated every step of the way. She is the reason this organization continues to flourish and help so many other animals in need of help, along with the help of her phenomenal volunteers. Adoption process was a breeze and even when I know I was being a pain in the a**, she took time to answer all my questions. Look here if you’re interesting in adopting or even if it’s just to donate. If anyone deserves it, it is this organization!
As a nonprofit director myself, I know the challenges of leading a small nonprofit, which makes Kaitlin’s hard work just that more impressive. Over the years, I’ve seen her go out of her way to rescue animals with complex medical issues, ones that other rescues may overlook because they are “less adoptable.” It is because she took a chance on a mama cat and her sickly litter of kittens that I now have my 2 fur babies. My adoption process went smoothly, and I am forever grateful that she gave my cats a second chance at life. I will recommend RAAR to anyone who wants to adopt.
Rise Above Animal Rescue is a wonderful group of folks, led by Kaitlin, who are dedicated to rescuing critters who need good homes and then placing them. I've adopted three times from them and would not go anywhere else. I started with elderly tortie Sadie and then with Tobias and finally Rebecca when they were kittens. If you are looking to adopt a pet, please do contact them.
They don’t respond to applications or emails. Edit- ironically just a few hours after I posted this review I received an email stating whoever is in charge of replying to emails was on vacation and that due to my review they won’t be moving forward. Which is funny because I think that decision was made when I realized they lack basic communication to relay that people are on vacation and will respond when they return. I also find it funny they have an excuse as if there aren’t multiple other reviews saying they don’t respond to emails or applications. It’s very easy to create an automated email response when you go on vacation, it’s also very easy to take accountability when you fall short in terms of communication when you run an organization. Steer clear. I found a beautiful kitten at another wonderful rescue.
