Description F.R.I.E.N.D.S. is a nonprofit 501(c) 3 organization established in 1987. We Broward County, Florida's oldest and largest rescue and only sanctuary. F.R.I.E.N.D.S. accepts all horses that test positive for EIA in Florida. We also accept all horses in immediate need of assistance in Broward and if possible, horses in need in Palm Beach and Dade. The horses we accept are the abandoned, neglected, abused, starving, injured, left behind and unwanted. We do not buy, sell, trade or give away horses. Instead we offer these horses a life of sanctuary so they will never be in a bad situation again. We are a "no kill" shelter and do not euthanize healthy horses. We believe in healing both their physical and psychological needs.
