We adopted Marsha, now known as Ziva. She’s the sweetest pup. It was a wonderful experience getting to know her and then being able to take her. Renee accommodated our challenging schedule, which was very kind. We are also taking advantage of the dog training, which is a nice bonus.
Wow where to begin? I recently adopted a dog from Renee at Rotts of Friends. I have worked with animal rescue for more than 30 years and fostered more than 50 dogs for a number of different rescues. The experience with Renee was without question the worst experience of my life involving dog rescue. The dog I adopted was "Beatrice" and she was listed on the the website as a "quite, gentle", dog that got along well with people and other dogs. Unfortunately this was not the case and Beatrice snapped at a number of people and actually bit me within the first day. It was a difficult decision to return her but a keeping a dog/Rott that bites was not an option. I spoke With Renee the following morning regarding the return. She stated she was not at the rescue. She also stated that while she was not there there where a few staff members who where on site and would be for a short while. I arrived a few minutes later and looked for the staff members she mentioned. I did not see them right away so Beatrice was placed in the adoption area in a secure 10 x 10 covered kennel. She also had an ample amount of water available. While there I was surprised to see Renee as she stated shortly before she wasn't there. I walked towards her to discuss the return. At that point Renee began a verbal assault and threaten to "blast the shit out of me". Realizing how unbalanced the behavior was I chose not to engage at all and immediately left without saying anything for fear of how she may do next. Within an hour Renee posted numerous false accusations about the return and also posted private information including my drivers license number online on her website. I would strongly suggest anyone considering dealing with Renee read all the other google revies prior to doing so.
I was boarding my dog at Rotts of Friends with Renee Lancaster. She argued that I was surrendering him. He stayed for 5 months and during that time I tried to get him back out, once I put him there, getting a feeling that she was not the person to leave my fur baby with. I involved animal control and deputy sheriff with no prevail! Nobody would listen to me! Everyone suggested to take her to court, which I did, when I returned from my medical leave. I informed her I was home and ready to pick up Teddy at 3 months. No answer to multiple texts and phone calls, except the sheriff calling and informing me that Renee states I am not welcome on her property and if I do come there she will place a citizens arrest on me! Still nothing about my fur baby! Two months later at the court case, she revealed that because Teddy was declining, her and the vet decided that it would be best to EUTHANIZE him! I received NO phone call before he started declining or about this decision. And, she waited 2 months to tell me! This happened the exact day I told her I was home and ready to pick him up! I was absolutely shocked! How is this OK?? She feels no remorse. In fact, I found this excerpt from her, "Rotts of Friends Animal Rescue Adoptions Saturday July2, 8-11 am! Come one. Come all, "Carol"and many other Rottweilers need responsible homes. Too many butt-wipe people dumping at full shelters. If you are grieving a deceased pet, get over it! Open your mind and heart for the cause. Please. Renee and team". And, she continues on, like any other day.
We are so happy we were able to work with Renee to adopt our new family member. I have a lot of respect for Renee and the way she works. If it wasn't for her being able to recognize what would work and what wouldn't, our outcome may not have been as smooth. We went in thinking we were going to take one sweet boy home buy quickly realized we may not be the best match (he actually went home with another amazing family while we were there). Renee had a little pup in mind for us and within no time we knew this was our new baby. Duke is adjusting well and brings us so much joy and laughter. It's a lot of work to keep up with a Rotti puppy, but we are SO thankful for the instruction from Renee and her matching us up with Duke- he is so worth it. The world needs more humans like Renee and her volunteers.
Wonderful place to get a rescue rottweiler. My first one was perfect, and now I'm on my second . The dog is the number one priority. They make sure that the animal Only goes home to a proper home. That is it right fit
Can't say enough about this rescue. We were lucky enough to take sweet Harper home with us after our old girl passed. It was no-nonsense, very well run and the place is beautiful and well kept with happy dogs and one apparently fearless cat. A few females were selected to meet us (after assessing our needs and situation). Harper was the first female brought out and during our walk it took about two minutes to determine that we wanted her with us for good. Bruno, our male, was able to run and have a meet and greet with her in one of the big grassy yards to see how they'd get along. The dogs finding healthy, happy forever homes is the #1 priority. As it should be. They've been through enough. Bruno and Harper (aka Freya) are inseparable now and it's only been a few days. She's a sweet, playful and curious cutie pie. So very happy to have her as part of the family!
