While on vacation with my family and pets, one of my cats got sick. I called VCA DelMarVa and they accommodated an appointment even if I wasn’t a local resident. The vet and vet asst were friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. The vet examined my cat, explained my cat’s health issue, recommended a treatment, and gave us a Rx. My cat immediately started feeling better. She got good quality care and the cost was more affordable than back home. Their facilities were clean, tidy and spacious. This vet visit was such a relief! I would highly recommend this animal hospital. 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We were seen for an emergency when no one else would take our dog. Our girl got met with TLC and we were extremely happy with the service and care of all the staff. We loved them so much that we decided to make them our regular vet when we are at our beach house.

My 1st visit, so we'll hope that my experience holds true. Tech was awesome and knowledgeable. My Lilly loved her. Dr. was equally as awesome and understood my concerns as it relates to a senior boxer and all her little issues. Lilly also loved the doc. Front desk folks also very efficient and pleasant. It's 150$ just to get in the door here. They smile in your face while trying to add unnecessary charges. I proactively brought my dog in for what I thought was a potential UTI. I knew obviously a urinalysis would be necessaey. When I entered the room, I told the tech I am handling my dog's dermatitis holistically and to not address her skin. They looked in her ears and even though I haven't noticed her having any itching or pain in her ear, the doctor said she didn't have any debris in either ear, but her right ear looked inflamed. I agreed to an ear cytosis to determine whether she had an ear infection. She came back to say she has a bacterial and fungal infection. I have no way of getting proof of this. At the end, they brought me an itemized bill for $795.00. first on the list: Apoquel (for dermatitis, which the vet did not discuss with me at all, they just added this on their own) which was approximately $180. They wanted to do an ear flush despite having no debris in either ear for almost $100. The medication for her ear, $100. The antibiotic to help her UTI, 96.50. the list goes on. At this point, the tech was unable to get a urine sample. As soon as we left, I was able to get the sample and brought it back in. I said I wasn't paying for an antibiotic without knowing first whether she even had an infection. I told her I was astonished that the medication was 96$. Then she leaves the room and comes back with a handwritten prescription, and a coupon that lowers the cost to approx. 32.40 and then made sure to tell me that Rite Aid charges $118 without this coupon. Am I the only person that finds this shady? She knew I could get it elsewhere cheaper and even knew the exact amount of the cost of the drug at a different pharmacy and if I wouldn't have questioned it, they would have been content charging me 96$ for meds she didn't need because the next day I get a voicemail, Turns out she didn't have any sign of infection but suggested I give her the meds anyway? Not happening. Despite the fact that I knew this woman was trying to sneak in extra charges and price gouge me, I tried to thank her for being a vet because to my understanding it's a very difficult job and I wanted to let her know I appreciated her availability. She didn't take it that way, instead responded that she puts on the bill what she considers the "gold standard" of care because her #1 concern is (points at my dog). No, your #1 priority is making $ for this clinic and ripping off innocent pet parents. I also asked for the rabies booster because my dog is due on July 4th for the booster and I figured while I was there, she could get it. But the vet said no, she didn't need it until the 5th of July and at that point I can schedule another $150 visit to pay for a rabies shot. Also to get your dogs nails trimmed here it's over 22$. 1. Winterplace Animal Hospital does their first new patient appointment for $75. Half the cost of just a normal visit at VCA. Any normal office visit after that is $60. 2. Tractor supply works with vaccinating cats and dogs and if you go to their website, they list dates that they will be at the store and you can go get your rabies shots for $25. Also on a previous visit the same vet was wearing flip flops. What's up with that? Take my advice and go elsewhere. The world is too expensive right now to deal with this.

This pet hospital is the best. Kindness goes a long way, and the Drs and Staff have been nothing but wonderful. Especially when nothing else can be done for your fur baby. Thank you. We will drive 40 minutes to you always, because you are worth it.

We went through a really tough time in losing my dog Gracie. The kind and exceptional staff at VCA made us feel so comfortable and walked us through every step of having to make the decision that no one wants to have to do. They were there for us. Gave us a cherished token that we will hold onto forever. Thank you for the kind words in the card you gave us. Gracie Spock thanks you as well. 🐾
