Description No-kill, private non-profit animal shelter.
Amazing people found a kitten on my way to work laying in my barn pulled up to spca on a Monday 15 minutes later I asked if they could help her the young man volunteering said yes we can asked his supervisor I called to check on her and Shannon is amazing the vet tech gave me an update I’m relieved this kitten has a great chance and is being fostered by her Thank God And thank you
I’d honestly give them 0 stars if I could. I inquired about a pit bull puppy and called them 3 times during the week I was planning to go adopt. I drove 2 and a half hours to get there to a closed gate, during the operating hours. I called, and did get to meet the puppy but then was told I couldn’t adopt that day. This was confusing because I sent in my application 5days-a week before (their website says it’ll take a max of 3days to accept) I had been calling and talking to workers there and telling them I was coming making sure everything was ok (no one said anything was wrong) only after a 2hour drive for me did they decide to say I drove 2hours for nothing basically, so I had to drive 2hours back home with no new best friend :( To sum it up their website info is wrong, their workers are incompetent, and it’s impossible to adopt from them.🤷♀️ *For this place I’d believe all the reviews, no matter how old.*
The person whom does your adoption coordination should be fired. She’s a gatekeeper, preventing anyone whom her biased opinion views as unworthy of being allowed to show love to and receive love from an animal from adopting.
We adopted 2, 4 1/2 month old sister cats last year and the process went really well. They take care of everything and are excellent at it. Cats and dogs at the facility were all well cared for. Top notch, community organization. Our cats have been just the greatest too.
The staff at this shelter are awesome and very appreciative. Keep up the great work and thank you all for what you do. Made a cat and dog food donation along with 5 blankets and dog treats on my late son Buddy's behalf. He loved the beach there and was well worth the 3 hour drive for this drop off donation.
I've adopted 2 elder cats from WCHS. I love that it is a NO KILL SHELTER. THE cat I adopted a few months ago is 14 yrs old and had been in the shelter for 8 yrs. I also am a volunteer at the WCHS THRIFT STORE on Sunset Ave in WOC. Come shop with us for great bargains.
