I called around for my cat to be seen sooner. This is the only place that has an open appointment sooner. Staff were friendly and professional. Dr. Kennedy was helpful and sent us home with medications. Thank you

This has been my preferred location to take my dog for all his veterinary needs in Albuquerque. My experience with Dr Martinez and the staff has always been positive. Small parking in front but plenty near by, expect a 15 Minute wait. Would recommend

First time here. Exam was $116 and I paid it with a link sent straight to my phone to book the appointment same day. I called at least 8 other places that didn’t have anything available same day. Dr Martinez and her staff were extremely friendly and showed compassion for my pitty who wasn’t feeling well. I like that I didn’t run into a lobby full of waiting people. Facility was clean and prices were fine. I used care credit and thankful they had that as an option for payment. Thank you VCA.

We scheduled an appointment to have our Jillie Bean get her yearly exam and Vaccinations...as we all know these visits can be quite stressful on our babies. The reception area was roomy and clean and the staff were warm and Welcoming. We let them know who we were and they found our appointment right away, we then filled out a quick document and were seen within minutes. Thank you Dr. Lund, and staff for making our visit as easy , efficient and comfortable as possible.

(Lengthy but happy-ending review) My fiancé and I just wanted to reach out and thank each and every one of the staff members at this location for the amazing care and urgency they had for our situation. Last August (2022) we were passing through Albuquerque on the I-40 when we noticed a small dog on the side of the highway. She lifted her head and looked at the cars going by the moment we happened to be passing and we immediately stopped to attempt reaching her. When we approached her, we noticed that she was unable to move and had all but given up. We assumed at that point she was hit by a vehicle or possibly jumped from a moving one. I grabbed a blanket from the car and my fiancé carefully picked her up and wrapped her in it. We got in the car and started heading towards the city. We started looking for emergency vets/hospitals that were both close and happened to be open on a Saturday at 5PM. The closest available hospital was VCA West Mesa Animal Hospital and let me just say, we thank God every day that we chose this location. As soon as we rushed in, we were greeted with such an alert readiness that made us feel like they were waiting for us to come in. We explained the situation and they immediately took her back. We waited in a private room for them to examine her and give us an update on her condition. They told us after further investigation that she is suffering from a broken femur, pelvis, and brain damage/bleeding. The likelihood of her making it isn’t good, but they are going to try and get her through this. They advised they were already setting up a transfer to another emergency hospital in the area, that is better equipped to handle her injuries. We were able to go back and see her while she was heavily medicated and we told her to fight with all she’s got. We loved her already. We let them know that we were interested in adopting her if she makes it and doesn’t belong to anyone. They let us know where she was being transferred to and said we could try calling them in the morning to see if she made it through the night. The next morning we were able to get in touch with the hospital she was transferred to and they said to their surprise, she did make it through the night and is doing well. Since we were just passing through NM (not residents of the state) on the way to another state, we weren’t able to stay and see her. Fast forward 2 months, several phone calls, and multiple surgeries later, we’re told that she’s adoptable and able to go home when we’re ready to make the trip for her. They did let us know before we consider adoption, that she had to have her left back leg amputated due to the femur break and lost a litter of puppies in the process. She is free of brain damage, any physical ailments (aside from missing a limb) and is ready for a family. We made a special trip to get her and although she was very cautious and skittish towards us, we knew she was meant to be ours. It’s now August of 2023 and she is the happiest, most grateful dog we have had the chance of knowing. She’s got the strongest personality and likes to stand up to any size dog that dares to challenge her. She fits into our family beautifully and rules the house/yard. She gets around better than my other 4-legged dogs and just loves life. We call her our miracle because that’s exactly what she is. If it wasn’t for VCA West Mesa Animal Hospital and their urgency to help, I don’t think we would have been able to re-unite with her. If you are to choose any animal hospital in the Albuquerque area, this is the one. They care for your animals as if they were their own and that’s not something you get often these days. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us that late Saturday in August. It’s changed our lives for the better.

Excellent healthcare for my 3 month old puppies. The doctor, Amy, gave excellent healthcare advice and proceeded with the right treatment plan that we could afford. She described everything patiently even though we had to ask multiple questions and really took the time to treat and take good care of our puppy.
