If I could give 0 stars on this place I would. I cannot believe they charge you to get your animal back, and they tell you on the phone they were the ones who found it and they charge 100$ for the city fee due to finding your cat. First of all, people are the ones finding those cats / dogs and bringing them to the spca. I don’t see them driving around looking for these stray animals. Second of all, they stated my cat was taking in yesterday evening. It hasn’t even been 24 hours and they are trying to charge me the city fee and for two days. Which comes to 160$ in total, this place has gone down hill extremely and they don’t care about the bond people have with their animal that went missing. It’s a rip off and a nasty place to be in the city.

We, my wife and I adopted all but one of our dogs through the SPCA in Moncton. Now that I am a senior citizen I would like to get another dog through the SPCA this time I'd like to get a westie. I'm not sure if the SPCA in Moncton, has had any cross their paths. The SPCA in Moncton they take very much pride in what they do. Hats off to them!

April/04/24 my wife and I visited to see if we could adopt a dog named Sam.The staff member seemed to be rude and after a short 2 minute interview said we were not suited for this particular dog because we have grandchildren which by the way we rarely see accept for special holiday family dinners, and are all older in age ( teenagers and 20 year olds). In any case today my wife left another phone message and no reply as the voice on the shift supervisor answering service is hmmmm can you guess.I believe the actual reason for refusing to help us is because of my voice defect from surgery, fighting cancer for 10 yrs now its showing its toll with things such as speech impediment and general physical appearance. We have had the pleasure of raising several breeds such as Shepard, Malimute,Husky Rotweiler, black lab, border collie to name a few, and have dealt with dogs with food issues before. I recently lost my companion of 10 yrs and feel the need to fill this void in my life as i seem lost without him at my side. We wanted to rescue a dog because we wanted a dog that needed us as much as we needed him/her. We feel we need to actually need to rescue this dog from the SPCA from what we have witnessed so far. Going back tomorrow to visit Jake if he is still available and to speak to upper management. Stay tuned for further developments as this next visit will be commented on also.

Our experience there was terrible. We fell in love with a lovely dog who had been there for 41 days at that time. So we visited twice. When we brought our well behaved retrievers to meet this dog, first, the young women asked my husband to go outside and she took our dog by the leash. Instantly changing the normal dynamic. She faced them off in the middle of the room..mine sat still while the poor adoptee sniffed them, appropriately. While this was going on, meowing cats were being moved around us in cages, causing chaos and the dog to fixate on those cats. At one point, the dog gave one of our boys a wee growl. Nothing scary, mine didn't react. Not backing away,no jumping or fear. The worker, who claimed to know animal behaviour, then decided to deny us the privelege of bringing the poor dog home with us. She said she saw a blood bath coming. The poor dog is still in that cage, now 45 days. She will likely growl at any strange dog who is forced to sit in front of them for a sniffing. All we wanted was to rescue this poor girl. We are experienced dog owners, many times over. I left in tears. The whole experience was disgraceful. Seems like donations are happily taken. Hopefully they let the poor girl out of her cage a few times a day. Would not recommend.

Worst place to adopt we went there to adopt a kitten and they refused to let us adopt because they said (they didnt think we were fit to take care of a kitten) cant believe theres a place like that in the world i owned a lot of cats in my life all of them were healthy cats that lived a long life wouldnt recommend this place to anybody ever

Had a dog for 3 years that started turning on the owner and it's own babies, with nowhere else to go and not wanting to put the dog down the SPCA was the only option. They refused to even look at the dog and just repeatedly stated it was the owners responsibility to deal with the dog and they wouldnt take him. Instead of helping the dog they would rather the owner pay close to 700$ to put down their best friend. This is suppose to be Animal Control, you answer shouldn't be "Deal with it yourself."
