Description Alvin Animal Clinic has been serving Alvin and the surrounding communities since 1956. We are a full service Animal Hospital treating Cats, Dogs, pocket pets, goats, and sheep. We offer several advanced services including photobiomodulation ( cold laser) , digital x-ray , digital dental x-ray, stem cell treatments, cancer vaccine, and more.
Our dog is a patient of Dr. Henshaw. We recently experienced a minor emergency with him, and called the clinic to see if we could get him seen there versus taking him to an unfamiliar animal ER. Despite it being a very busy Friday morning, they were able to squeeze us in almost immediately and got our boy, Duncan, into their very capable & compassionate hands. He ended up having to stay for a few hours for some testing. While he was in their care, we received multiple DETAILED updates on his status. Dr. Henshaw and Sam were especially patient with our thorough questions, taking care to answer every single one! I deeply believe a dog will tell you everything you need to know about a Vet Clinic when you pick them up after a prolonged stay. Our boy definitely had the time of his life up there, despite enduring multiple x-rays and a barium study. He LOVES the staff and they love him back! From the receptionists, the technicians, and the doctors, you can expect professionalism, kindness and empathy...which is everything you want in a veterinarian. THANK YOU to everyone at Alvin Animal Clinic!!!!!
Very Happy with the service I received today for my baby Noah. I loved the fact that you have to walk in with you bby and meet with the doctor instead of dropping him off and then picking him up afterwards. Prices are very reasonable in par with other clinics. Just moved to Alvin and I'm glad I found the perfect clinic for my bby. Highly Recommend.
I’m so glad we came across AAC! No one would take in our baby (Oreo) and from the moment we called AAC they were so attentive and concerned we immediately felt cared for. As soon as we stepped inside everyone was so caring, gentle and understanding. Our Oreo was so sick and they took such great care of him. From the front office to the techs to the Doctors we truly felt our boy was in great hands. Everyone is so knowledgeable. And we will be bringing our other dog here too.
We have brought all of our animals here for a few years and some of the staff is wonderful. Very patient and caring however, some do not come across that way and seem more annoyed than anything. The wait times have gone up considerably. You will wait anywhere between 15 mins to an hour after your appointment time to see a vet. Two of our dogs are a bonded pair and anxious so they are barkers and appear aggressive with people though they are not at all. They have been coming here since they were puppies at 8 weeks. They are now almost 3 and even though when we make an appointment for them we remind them of their actions and that we will wait in the car, we ended up waiting 50 mins past their appointment time and the dogs were even more anxious. They wanted to give us drugs to give the dogs before we come and come back and we refused. A tech took the time with them (and was wonderful) and was able to treat both of them and have their shots given with no issues. Was told their file would be marked that they needed early morning appointments to reduce wait times and amount of customers. Called to make an appointment for one of them who is having an issue and after a 12 minute phone wait time was told since they are restricted to morning appointments we would have to schedule 6 days out to the next week. Disappointing. We have kept coming for the staff that is wonderful with the animals but don’t know how long we will be able to continue if the wait times keep being so extreme.
Im a little frustrated with trying to get my dog neutered. Call and ask about what they charge for the surgery and they wouldn't even give me a ball park figure without an office visit. Only after spending $60 on an office visit where they take his temperature, heart rate, and weight do they tell me it will be $700 for the procedure on a healthy 70lbs dog. I understand not knowing all the details of a dog without seeing it but at least give a ballpark answer.
Just moved to the area and I needed a new vet. Dr. Henshaw and Sam were great and took the time to keep my Amos at ease while they examined him and administered his vaccines. Dr. Henshaw also took the time to answer my questions and had great recommendations for some recent behavior anomalies. I'm happy I found this clinic.
