The new facility is very impressive and is a great asset to the community. The cat and dog holding areas are outstanding with lots of natural light.

We got a kitten in November. We let him explore the house, and he found the food bowl location and litter box right away. No accidents. He is very loved and spoiled. We changed his name from Charlie Brown to Ozzy Pawsbourne, and he is a total nut, crazy, Fun cat.

My toddler daughter and I decided to visit the kitties at PetSmart Apple Glen. What we saw was not something any animal lover would want to witness. The litter boxes were filled with feces, there was vomit from previous cats, and no food or water in the bowls. Feces were spilling over the edges of the litter boxes, as if they hadn’t been cleaned for some time! I never write bad reviews, ever. However, this was one of the most upsetting things I’ve seen. I told the lady at the register who came up to us. She said someone from the Humane Shelter usually takes care of the cats. She called the manager to have someone check it out. We left before we knew if anything was being done about the horrendous situation.

We adopted our lovely cat from this shelter. The whole staff was so nice. I'm greatful they help out our community 💕

We submitted an application to surrender a cat we had adopted from them about 4-5 years ago. He has been bullying our other two cats since we moved and after a year of vets, prescriptions, training, reintroduction, pheremones, making sure he's healthy NOTHING worked. He needed to be an only cat. No one got back to me. They don't answer their phones. So mind you, on night shift and not having slept since 5 pm previously, I drove 31 minutes to their shelter. The lady at the desk was really dismissive and kept saying they were appointment only. So I asked if she could help me set one up since I can never get a hold of anyone by phone. She gave me a card with a number to call. Seriously? Absolutely zero help. At least answer your phone and tell me you're not accepting appointments. Communicate in ANY WAY before I go through so much to just show up in person with my wife bawling in the car because we didn't want to have to do this to begin with. Humane Fort Wayne was recommended to us by a local. Yeah I'd highly advise you don't come here. We tried to rehome him ourselves. I'm surprised she didn't repeat that over and over again like she did, "appointment only." Go to Animal Care and Control. They were very kind, understanding, and reassuring. It was so hard to leave him with them but they eventually made the process easier once they understood how hard we had tried to make it work. Our other two boys don't deserve to always be anxious and barred from whatever resource he's decided they can't have. The collar activated food dishes so he couldn't keep eating it all were $200 each to begin with. A simple phone call saying they didn't have room would have sufficed.

Drove 30 minutes after WEEKS of news segments telling everyone to come on down to their new building and appreciate it. Yeah right. Won't let you in to LOOK unless you are pre-approved to adopt. Awfully deterring as I have a whole group of friends and coworkers who have also been eager to see the new facility that now say they won't go. I imagine, and from other reviews, this is a dumb way to knock down foot traffic and overall adoptions. I had wondered why the parking lot was completely empty when I arrived after so much news publicity to come visit. But apparently that was just to boost donations because the general public is not allowed here.
