When looking for a second cat, I was incredibly lucky to stumble upon Mama Lou. She's beautiful, social, curious. After only a day of being her home, she was comfortable with me and the house. I was worried about introducing her to my other cat, Ingrid (black&white) but to my surprise, Lou was incredibly patient; despite Ingrid's initial defenses, Lou would not hiss back, sat still, offered slow blinks and patience. I believe that's one of the reasons why their introduction process has gone so smoothly. Two weeks in, and they are sharing the same space together without hostility. I'm so grateful for Lou and her kindness. Throughout the adoption process, the staff was also very kind and helpful. It was my first time officially adopting from a shelter (got Ingrid through Black Forest Cat Cafe) and the process went well. If I'm ever looking for another cat, I know where to go.
Called about the growing community cats in my neighborhood asking for help to get them spayed so it doesn't get out of control. I was told I either had to catch them or rent a live trap and bring them in myself to be spayed and they only take 5 cats per day 2 days a week so its not guaranteed ill even get in. I guess I'll just leave them to continue to populate. These are not my cats and I rent so I figured they would be more helpful. I've also got a small child and am not going to try to catch and transport a wild cat with my baby in the car that may or may not get spayed that day. Thanks for nothing acc.
They were pleasant considering assisting with putting down a family member and wayyy more affordable than anyone else in town...$30 and your fur baby's resting place (zipped bag) is included for taking them home to bury. I loved how they were real people who understood the situation, was personable and even shared their own stories about their fur babies while handing out tissues. My family's thankful for them not charging an arm and a leg to say goodbye and recommend going there for your peace of mind/pockets during your difficult time.
I went there to pick up her cat that was put into the community cat program. If you're playing to go it may take some time waiting outside in line. They only are letting one person in at a timewe did not know this information in advance before we got there. Not a big issue but nice to know that type of information in advance. Volunteers and employees are both very nice and helping out with the pickup and adoption process. Mask are currently required. It is one of the cleanest and more well organized facility said I have seen in state.
Pretty sure this place has my lost cat. They originally said i can go back to see him. Only one person allowed back, then another older lady came out saying its not my cat, he’s feral, ect. ORIGINALLY the website says it was a 5yo unaltered male domestic tiger shorthair, then after i went down yesterday morning to get my cat and they lied to my face about it, they changed the entire description on the cat so it doesn’t match mine. This place refuses to let you see/ return your lost pets. Saying he’s feral yet the website says he’s looking for his owner to find him? Make it make sense. I’d give this place -5 stars if i was able.
This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star! My dog was staying with a “family” member. The family member drastically changed living situations and it resulted in my dog being under immense stress! He bit a puppy over food, and the family member turned him in here! They called me, since he’s microchipped to me, and told me I had until Monday to go reclaim him. I found an adopter for him, and then they called me the following morning saying I COULDN’T go get him and he was set to be euthanized!! This was his FIRST OFFENSE! And it was just another dog! Not a person!! They are now refusing to release him to ANYONE!! I can’t even get him transferred! They are a KILL shelter and absolutely inhumane!! This dog is such a good boy who just developed food aggression! If you know anything about dogs, you know food aggression can be rehabbed! But no!! They refuse to give me or the family my dog! And are not even allowing me to see him! This place is an absolute disgrace! This is not a dangerous dog! I will NEVER support another fundraiser for this place!! SINCE I CAN'T RESPOND ILL PUT IT HERE!! Duke was put into a VERY HIGH stress living situation with the person who had him! He has NEVER shown aggression to a single person!! You had his fate sealed the second he was surrendered!! You didn't even give him a chance!! You didn't even do an eval on him!! Based on the DOZENS of other complaints, it's clear your shelter is inhumane and pivots on euthanasia every chance it can! SHAME ON YOU! You don't represent animals and you deserve to be SHUT DOWN!
