I came in end of January after seeing Breezy (Willy) and knew he was the dog for me. I wanted a calm, quiet, well-mannered dog and Breezy (Willy) is it. I knew when I approached his kennel and saw his big beautiful brown eyes lock with mine that he was the one. He is the absolute best dog...never runs off, stays right by your side everywhere we go. He loves his daily bone I get from the meat section at the grocery store, car rides, playing outside and snuggle time. He is the most loving, sweetest dog ever. I am so happy we found each other.
We got the BEST dog here and had such a great customer service process beginning to end. I’m so sorry for not getting any of your names! Thank you so much to whoever answered the phone 7/9 at 3:30pm, as well as the front desk agent, volunteer, and other helpers on the afternoon of 7/13 who helped me and my boyfriend adopt Cash! He fits our lifestyle perfectly, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience in his adoption. Your assistance was much appreciated!
DO NOT bring your pet here they will euthanize them without informing you even though you tell them to inform you before hand, and then they will lie about informing you on the situation. This place is terrible. It is full of rude people and liars. Not to mention, they have inmates doing most of the work for them. They do not care about your animals or what happens to them. Please if you’re thinking of taking your animal here because you’re in a tough spot, don’t do it. Find them a home personally anything is better than taking them here. They are way too crowded for proper care, and they truly just don’t care what happens at the end of the day, and don’t count on them to inform you on anything. The only thing you can count on is them beating around the bush and lying to you.
Animal control usually gets a bad rap, especially in a large, mostly rural county like Carroll County, GA. I only have wonderful things to say about CCAC, however. We are new to Carroll County and are in a more rural area where, unfortunately, we have found that pet spay/neuter and fencing is not the norm (although we have done both). Today we found a maybe 6 week old, scrawny puppy screaming outside our primary fenced-in yard area. It was on our uncleared property. I took the puppy to a safe, cool place and gave it a bath and water. Then I called Carroll County Animal Control. The lovely lady, the dispatcher?, who took my call was understanding and outstanding. I understood that I may or may not receive a visit today given the time and our location. We made plans to figure out a way to house the squirt over the weekend away from our own pups, if needed. A couple of hours later, however, an Animal Control vehicle was in our driveway. The officer was outstanding and I cannot say enough good things about Courtney. She not only was super sweet to the puppy, but had an idea of the puppy's owner. She called me later and said she found the owner and the puppy had wondered off. It was reunited with its mama. She was compassionate and professional. Thank you, Animal Control.
I had one bad experience during Covid but was unfair in my rating. Great shelter. I adopted 2 puppies in 2019 and cannot imagine my life without them. I do regret not getting their brother and hope he is with a wonderful family.
Friendly and efficient staff :) When I was there a lot of kittens were sent to the Cat Cafe nearby so make sure you call first.
