Description Our LifeFirst philosophy is a commitment to never euthanize any animal because of lack of space or funding, but to save, restore and rehome all adoptable animals under our care. Our goal is to improve the quality and strength of the bond between people and their pets through education and example. We were founded in 1958 and began operations in 1962. We are private organization and we are not owned by any government organization.

Adopted these two hooligans about a month ago. It was an amazing experience from start to finish. I’d write more but there is a toy under the tv stand and I’m being summoned.

We adopted our sweet chonky Luna (formerly Hannah) as our first cat and she has been wonderful! Lots of cuddles and naps have helped the transition but NAS helped us prepare the most which kept it anxiety free for all involved. The adoption process went smoothly after being approved so if you're looking for a pet, adopt don't shop! These fur babies just want a happy home. Thank you NAS for all you do!

We were here last week and we were so impressed with the 💘 and care the volunteers gave to the 🐱. We adopted Prince and added Ariel or Lion of God to his name. Now he has a new throne and the first night he climbed on my chest and kissed me and purred! So 😊 we found him on Petango and Petfinder!

I’m sorry I don’t usually post reviews but in this case I feel like I was so unfairly treated by the shelter that it should be shared! I applied for a dog in fact I was told that I was the first applicant and had to supply proof of home ownership and release vet records,I did exactly what I was required by 8 am the following morning, but I got a call back from them later the following day saying that my application was approved but they had someone else meeting the dog first! How fair is that? They had very lame excuses and promised me that they would keep me updated on the situation. Would I ever recommend them No ! Happy that the dog that I was interested in got adopted but I felt it was not handled properly and that they messed up!

It was a great experience and staff was very helpful. We didn’t know what kittens we wanted and it was nice to not feel rush well we looked at them all. Our family is whole again.

Involved in a auto accident, we were taken to the hospital, our 2 dogs were taken to the animal shelter and were well cared for. When we were released from the hospital late after hours someone came and opened up so we could take our dogs home. Great service.
