Description Our LifeFirst philosophy is a commitment to never euthanize any animal because of lack of space or funding, but to save, restore and rehome all adoptable animals under our care. Our goal is to improve the quality and strength of the bond between people and their pets through education and example. We were founded in 1958 and began operations in 1962. We are private organization and we are not owned by any government organization.

Wonderful place, wonderful staff! The cats I adopted came spayed and with all their vaccinations for a reasonable cost, they helped with every aspect of the adoption process. Highly recommend to anyone getting an animal from this shelter. Mini and Honeycrisp have a new home!

I just adopted my new family member, Salem (previously Chauncy)! The NAS was EXTREMELY helpful in this whole process—very quick too! The shelter is so clean and the staff are so very sweet. They handle all of their animals and any other situations so well. You always see them interacting with the animals and keeping their spirits up, whether it be walking them, talking to them, or playing with them. Thank you SO much NAS!!

What a beautiful new facility! Such wonderful, warm and caring people and the animals are all cared for so well. Everything and all the animals are clean, get plenty of attention and all in need of loving homes.

We adopted our sweet chonky Luna (formerly Hannah) as our first cat and she has been wonderful! Lots of cuddles and naps have helped the transition but NAS helped us prepare the most which kept it anxiety free for all involved. The adoption process went smoothly after being approved so if you're looking for a pet, adopt don't shop! These fur babies just want a happy home. Thank you NAS for all you do!

We were here last week and we were so impressed with the 💘 and care the volunteers gave to the 🐱. We adopted Prince and added Ariel or Lion of God to his name. Now he has a new throne and the first night he climbed on my chest and kissed me and purred! So 😊 we found him on Petango and Petfinder!
