I took two of my cats to get spayed, I got there and there was a lady to take my animals rite from the parking , and she was super kind and very gentle w my cats . I was suppose to pick them up at 4 but I couldn't make it cause of work. But they were super nice to me regardless and my cats were t even stressed out. So the staff there is amazing , I mean totally amazing people.
Absolutely 💯 Amazing staff and services. I believe I've been with them since 2014. They provide the best and they have prices u can afford. I'm so grateful 🙏 🥲 for them. I try to leave even if it's a small donation because they are in Dyer of funding. They're in desperate need for funds and Volunteers. I'm a senior and retired disabled. So there's to much I could do. But, if u find it in ur heart this place needs all the support they can get and absolutely deserve it.
Called to ask why it wasn't possible to make an appointment online. Was told to call back the next day, that the appointments would open at 12noon. Go online the next day at 12noon to find there is exactly ONE appointment available, and this is for NOVEMBER. After going through the prompts the appointment would not confirm. I did this three separate times. Finally gave up and called them and left a VM. Came back online this morning to try again, only to see now there are NO appointments available at all. Now I have more questions than answers. This is a TAXPAYER-FUNDED service. I have no idea what the annual operating budget is (but I WILL be finding out) and how this relates to animal services within Volusia County. I just find it appalling that we're seeing an explosion in dogs being given up, dumped on the road, pregnant dogs, and there is only ONE resource for a county of 500,000 people. To me this sounds like an underserved need which only contributes to the growing pet overpopulation problem. On top of it, recently during a Volusia County Council meeting the County Manager George Recktenwald stated that there had been complaints by veterinarians claiming that these low-cost County veterinary services were causing them to lose business (!!!), and the County Council also recently considered dissolving the Animal Control Services Advisory Board. Absolutely unacceptable by our elected leaders to disregard the needs of the community to be able to access affordable vet care and for residents to have such few options.
Our baby was spayed today. So far we’ve only had positive interactions. She seems to be recovering peacefully.
V.C.A.C. was helpful & friendly. My Rescue Dog BUDDY now has his Dog License. Well, it's been a year now & Buddy has gone from a scared & timid dog to a friendly & loving companion. He is still terrified of children but gets along very well with other dogs & people (he's still shy around new people but is improving daily). He is trained to stay in the yard, & loves to travel to Michigan & camp for the Summer.
I called about a sick stray kitten I trapped and the officer that came to my house was highly unprofessional and hostile he didn't let me explain before he started yelling about coming back to my house and that they weren't free transportation for my cats and if I wanted them fixed I had to take them myself that was completely unrelated to why I called my reason for my call being because a stray kitten showed up at my house very sick and lethargic and losing fur my neighborhood is a dumping ground for cats and there a bunch of stray cats constantly reproducing many of which are friendly I have three inside outdoor cats that I feed and the strays hang around my house to eat my cats leftover food he refused to take the kitten that was badly sick previously i called about another kitten that was severely sick my sister caught it and wrapped it in a blanket he refused to take it claiming it was mine because it was to friendly and he saw my little sister playing with my cats the kitten died a few hours later most of the strays were abandoned and unwanted but very friendly he was arguing about me taking the cats to TNR myself and he wasn't free transportation wouldn't even let me explain the situation anytime I tried explaining he shot me down he was quit irritable and very angry at some points in his argument he was nearly yelling i completely stopped trying to explain by the end i said okay before he stormed off to his vehicle and stayed there for another five minutes the image is of the kitten that died
