I had lost a very dear friend. He had 2 dogs that was 14 and 13 which was originally my dogs as puppies. Halifax treated me OMG do so kind everyone the there was so kind and helpful. That let me claim my friends dogs with pictures and charged me nothing. This place is the greatest.

Halifax is great! They are very friendly and allow you to interact with the cats before you choose to adopt (not sure about dogs- I never looked at dogs). I adopted a 5-month-old kitten back in September 2023 and he is as beautiful and healthy as they come. The staff was friendly, patient, and even was able to get him fixed faster so he could come home sooner! 🐈‍⬛

We adopted Pom Pom about a month ago. She is a blessing because last week we had to let our 17 year old cat cross the rainbow 🌈 bridge 🌉. Now we get to love her. She has been to our vet and received all vaccines and is on preventative medicine. We had a great experience at Halifax Humane Society and we will definitely adopt from them again

Saturday evening approximately 10p.m. I took some trash out and noticed a tiny kitten just trucking down the street towards me. She was alone and I ran inside to get food and water. When I came back out she was attempting to cross International Speedway Blvd near the beach. I took her in to keep her for the night as I already have a 12 year old male cat. I took her to Halifax at noon when it opened and the receptionist was most kind and caring. I know they will be able to place this little cutie for adoption. She was a social and friendly little cat. They handle the intake process quickly and easily.

Came here a few weeks ago and ended up adopting the sweetest guy ever. Everything went really smooth all the workers were super helpful. He's happy, healthy and settled into his new home really fast.

Terrible and unethical practices. They did not follow their adoption hours and allowed an adoption between the time I called right before closing and the time they opened for adoptions the NEXT day. We drove 3 hours round trip from Orlando. We arrived to the shelter at 11am and we waited an hour until they opened at noon for adoptions. This dog was adopted at 10:30am. Spoke to management who tried to get us to adopt another dog even though we went specifically for her! We did so much research about her breed, etc. When you open your heart up to adopting again after a loss of a dog, this was an extremely disappointing thing to have happened. Very disheartening and very hurtful! If I could give zero stars, I would!
