This place has been a blessing to me and to many others.I can honestly say I enjoyed working with the Salvation Army, my only complaint is the case manager Ms.Audrey her and I worked together for sometime before my health issues were severe, Our offices were right across from one another and she was very concerned about my position, which I just got hired for the supervisor/Bookkeeper position. Which made me feel very uncomfortable. She was always hovering over me, and I always felt as if she was competing with me to earn a spot and earn a cookie from the Captain, when all I was trying to do was get to know him, and stay engaged. I always felt as if she was trying to hold me back, so I avoided and ignored her, she didn’t like the fact that she was getting shunned, so she had addressed it in front of the Captain. I tried to explain my side of the story he was rude and cut me off and said,“she’s not like that”, “she’s a sweet person” I couldn’t even get one word out because he spoke over me. And this lady had him fooled. I’m a nice person, so I left it alone because it was like I couldn’t ever speak, and he never wanted to hear me. All he ever cared about was his own family, friends, and accomplishments, and listening to her loud ghetto jokes which got very annoying at some point. An office setting is suppose to be professional. I couldn’t even think or focus, from all that bullcrap. How could you even work in a business professional environment like that without being behind with your work and documentation. The Captain claimed he don’t like being called the Captain because he’s equal just like everyone else. But all he’s ever talked about was himself. How about being humble and asking others questions about their own life experiences or accomplishments, if you’re so equally. Especially if you’re trying to help others at the Salvation Army! Just like when you turned the elderly black woman around when all she needed was a ride down the street because her car broke down, but gave that elderly white man a ride all the way to another city because he was just recently hospitalized. Treat everyone equally! They’ve lost a good worker because of this, I was skeptical about returning back, And that’s all I have to say because I had this bottled up for quite sometime, and now I feel better, and others can hear my story too!
