We took our 4 month old puppy here after she swallowed a fish hook, yes a fish hook! They were quick, efficient, understanding and kind to both us and our pup! They did emergency surgery and kept her over night. They called us frequently with updates, even offered for us to come sit with her while she recovered. When we picked her up they were slammed with emergencies and still made sure they took their time to explain all of our babies medications and healing process. They only get better… Shout out to Miss Joan! Our insurance company was giving us a hard time and Joan jumped straight into action for me. Proving to the insurance company that they had all required documents and our claim was immediately processed. Extremely grateful for this team! Any time we have an emergency with our fur babies we will be coming here!
Best ER around! Our pup decided he wanted the 7 chicken wing bones that were in the trash, along with the pad under your chicken packages! Which have crystals in them that are really bad for your dog & he chewed the bones so small they turned into shards that could cut and do major damage. Thankfully the ER was able to get us in fast, we barley waited 20 minutes. Front desk staff was amazing, Shelby was awesome- constantly calming me down & checking in, the techs were so detailed and sweet. As for the drs …. They all rocked. They worked as a team to come to a solution. They were all so personable & put our anxiety at ease. Forever will be grateful for this ER. Felt comfortable leaving our little man over night for two nights without a worry! Highly recommend!!
I would give them 10 stars if I could. Friday night, we took our sweet kitty here because she had swallowed quite a bit of thread. We were seen very quickly and updated every step of the way. They communicated that they were busy but that her surgery should be done that night. Everyone there was so kind and communicative and they took great care of our kitty. She is home now and recovering
We’ve had to bring our boy Bub here 3 times now. The first time, they saved Bub’s life. He was lethargic with labored breathing and pale gums. They wasted no time getting him back and taking care of him. They had to drain fluid from a sack that had formed around his heart. They kept us very informed the entire time we were there. They referred us the UF Animal Hospital in Gainesville to get further testing and treatment, and made sure we had all the info we needed before we went. At UF they confirmed he has Hemangiosarcoma, so they did surgery to remove the mass from his heart. A week after surgery, one of his incisions were infected, so I took Bub back to Animal Emergency Hospital Volusia, and they saw us right away. Got his incision cleaned up, and gave us ideas to help keep it clean since it was on his belly and touches the ground frequently. Just today, I took him back again because he seemed very tired and out of breathe. Since he just had his first chemo treatment i just wanted them to check his heart out to make sure everything was okay. They took him back right away again, checked him out, and the. Took the time to give me information on supplements that I can get that will help him as his cancer progresses. Everyone there is so friendly and empathetic, very informative, and easy to talk to.
Twice in the past week they have taken the best care of our dog. They were so compassionate and sweet with her while providing the very best care. From my experience all the staff absolutely love animals and our dog sensed this. Diagnosis and treatment plan was the best we could have expected. About a year ago we had a horrible experience at another hospital with a possible snake bite. It was obvious they were trying to run up the bill and the doctor was terrified of our 100 pound puppy, even with a muzzle! For NO reason. Highly recommended this facility.
They helped me get our sweet girl Sage help very quickly, I actually messaged online the night before for advice and they responded within an hour. Then when she was still having issues the next day I got her over there and the staff was incredible and sweet, they took the time to answer my questions even though there was a lot going on at the time. They also walked me through how to give her medicine to her. We are very thankful for everyone who helped us out and took care of our little baby💚
