I’ll start off by saying I’m giving two stars because the vets themselves are friendly enough. That’s where the “friendly” ends. I took my dog in a few months ago for a teeth cleaning where he got an exam beforehand. Jump to a few days ago when I took him for a vaccine that was due. I was told he was due for his annual exam and when I said he just got an exam a few months ago the vet tech just stared at me with a blank awkward stare. So I asked if the annual exam was different than the other exam he had and got the run around so we decided just to do it. The vet (who I had never seen before) came in, pet my dog, looked in his ears and then charged me $70. This pisses me off on its own, but now, I for some reason was feeling around his nose just to realize he has some kind of skin issue. My dog has long hair and I generally don’t feel down to the skin on his muzzle. Had the vet actually done her job, she would’ve found that but apparently it’s the owners job to perform the exam and then let them know what any issues are, and then they’ll take their best guess as to what to do next. I’ve seen several vets at this office and it’s always the same thing. All vets charge outrageous prices for doing very little work. Might as well take your pet somewhere that is a little more thorough
My pup had a reaction to his vaccinations yesterday and when I called they told me to bring him in, the second we walked in the door they got him right back for treatment and explained everything thoroughly to me. They were so kind and knowledgeable. It was a scary thing to see but they made me feel better and made my pup feel better! He is looking so much better now after their excellent care, and I feel so much relief knowing they’re there if I ever have issues. Such wonderful staff, and the cleanest vet office I have ever seen. So grateful for them all! Keep up the great work!!
We have used Dr Brister for years and have had nothing but a positive experience. She’s professional, knowledgeable, compassionate and always very thorough.
This was my second annual visit for my two cats. The staff was friendly and once we got into a room took time to answer questions that I had as well as helped to put both cats at ease. The doctor reviewed notes from their first visit, gave the examinations, and administered their annual shots. The doctor did a great job and neither cat really noticed they had even gotten a shot. She took time to help them relax and be comfortable with her and gave them lots of pets afterwards. They even helped me carry their crates to and from the room as well as to my car since I was alone. Thanks for providing a great experience!
The entire staff goes above and beyond! My dog needed to have surgery and he is scared of strangers. They allowed me to stay with him until he was under anesthesia. When I picked him up he was wagging his tail and allowing one of the staff to pet him. The staff really works with pet owners to make sure they can make everything as comfortable as they can for your pet. I am so glad we were introduced to the team at Cave Springs Pet Hospital.
If you are looking for a vet with zero knowledge, lacks compassion and shows no empathy, this is your place. Dr. Rizzolo was the discharging vet on duty when I came to pick up my 4 year old dog from a procedure that morning. At noon, I had received a call telling me his procedure went well, vitals were good, and to pick up at 5 pm. When I arrived at 5 pm, my dog was coughing (choking sound) and had just become distressed. Really? This suddenly came on? The tech took him into the back room to assess the situation. We are now quickly approaching closing time and Dr. Rizzolo came in the room and showed me an xray. I asked what I was looking at (she pointed to some white spots) and her answer was “I don’t know”. I asked if he was having a reaction from his procedure and she said “I don’t know”. I asked if he had become distressed earlier in the day what would you be doing to help him she replied “I don’t know”. My mind is blown at this moment that a Dr can’t offer any idea on what is making my dog distressed. I asked Dr. Rizzolo what choices I had and she said I could either have him euthanized or take him to the emergency vet clinic that offers care after hours. Euthanized? He is 4 years old. I made the decision to take him to the emergency vet. When the tech and Dr brought my dog to me, they handed him over like it was a transaction. They weren’t petting him, cheering him on to get better, nothing. They just wanted to go home. Unfortunately, my dog passed away the next day. A week had passed and I had not heard at all from anyone at this business to check on my dog or express their condolences. There are plenty of other knowledgeable and compassionate veterinarians in our area. Please choose any place other than Cave Springs Pet Hospital.
