If I could leave 10 stars I would! It's amazing to have such a wonderful clinic in Macon! Vetting is getting increasingly more expensive , and I appreciate all the hard work the folks over at SAFE do! The vets who spend their time doing these low cost surgeries are doing pet owners a favor all over the place; Im extremely grateful! It is hard to get an appointment for bigger dogs, but its well worth it. I'd much rather spend $200 on a complicated Cryptorchid surgery than 500+ ; and I have a lot of faith and trust in the vets and staff here! We have had almost all of our pets, and a few strays fixed and vetted here and all of them are wonderful, happy and healthy! They're extremely organized, and all the info you could possibly need is up front and given to you in advance; its wonderful! I would recommend them over and over!
The interaction didn't inspire a lot of trust or confidence in the facility. Very disappointing and inaccessible UX/UI and facility interaction. Because it's a non-profit, a lot is forgiveable, but based on the interaction & experience, it seems like they're after the deposit funds.
I had my cat fixed here, nothing wrong with him… the cleanliness and cross contamination (flea carrying cats and dogs near the indoor cats) is my issue, when i picked him up, there was urine coating the top of his carrier, i asked what it was and they were like, “oh its just pee”…. So theyre practically stacking animals… and on top of that, since we brought him back home, hes been itching, so i checked him, and sure enough hes got fleas… never had an issue until we came here… do better S.A.F.E….. not so safe in my opinion EDITED TO RESPOND TO REPLY: It was the woman with the cleft palate that told me it was “probably urine” on the TOP of my pets carrier… i asked “whats this fluid on the top?” And she said “its probably urine”… and my names gabriel bodrey… not hiding from anyone, seems yall cant take criticism from upset people without snapping back…. Very professional on your end, also, never had an issue with fleas until AFTER i picked up my pet, and he is an indoor cat… but after the responses ive seen on here toward angry customers, id rather let the BBB know about it
I had a stray cat that started hanging around my house that has adopted me. Being a strong believer of TNR (trap, neuter, and release), I made an appointment to have him fixed. New surgery center on Riverside. Plenty of parking. When you make the appointment and pay the deposit, they confirm your arrival and pickup time. They email and text this information several days prior to the appointment. I like this so much better than with the mobile unit where everyone has the same drop-off and pickup times. Those create a long line of people in cars that sometimes create traffic jams. For the parking lot and into the road sometimes. Not here. Plenty of parking. Assigned times that are staggered depending on procedure and workload. They seem to have this down to a science. The only problem is... PEOPLE WHO DONT KNOW HOW TO TELL TIME OR FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. Please only show up at the time you are provided. If you don't do this, you create extra work and confusion for the staff. Plus, you clog up the assigned spaces for people who do know how to tell time. I arrived and had to park in a different spot. You are supposed to follow the sign and park in spots that have orange cones. The staff still figured out who I was and took my cat. Before pickup time, you are texted and emailed the amount for services minus the deposit. You also have the ability to do the payment on line. DO THIS! It causes a much smoother pickup. I arrived for pickup, and they brought out CowBoi to my car. He was wide awake and ready to come home. He slept most of the day on my bed. I couldn't tell if that was from the procedure or if it was normal feline behavior. SAFE, Saving Animals From Euthanasia! I have used them more than once, and I am extremely pleased with them. Remember, arrive at your assigned times. Not early! Not late! And you will help make others happy also.
I had a great experience with S.A.F.E.! They took good care of sweet baby calico. I will be returning!
Saying this to vent my frustration just in case I’m ignored again. I used this clinic to fix most of the strays around my area (wooded, lots of feral cats and dogs that most clinics won’t take anyway) and had no issues except for the communications errors, long wait time, and fees I was charged. I understand a business can’t run for free, however to offer this as a low-cost option in an already poorer area and to be so strict in not great. I’ve been blocked from using your service, even just for checkups for the animals that I brought to you. I paid the no show fee, I paid the late fee, even though it was traffic due to road work on the highway and couldn’t avoid it. I’ve lost out on close to $200 to not receive any services for my animals at all due to fees. Secondly, communication should be better. I wasn’t told my appointment requests were getting blocked at all, simply ignored, until I reached out myself. I’m irritated because now I have to find another place to take my animals to that I can afford. I understand having rules, but at the end of the day you’re taking care of the ANIMALS, not the people that own them.
