This is Max!!!! He is four year old and our best friend. We adopted Max from here in November 2023. He is an amazing addition to our family. We got him at the perfect time, all his shots were up to date, he was micro chipped, and fixed prior to getting him. He is currently in training for being a service dog. He is truly a blessing to our family. This was an awesome place to get him. They care about their animals and spend time taking them out regularly. The holding areas were clean and the animals looked healthy. All the staff was very polite and gave a lot of detail prior to adoption on Max's history. We felt very well informed and ready to bring our new family member home. Thank you all for what y'all do for the animals in this community.

At 837 Parkview Dr, there are 2 aggressive dogs that have been tied up in the unfenced yard for extended periods of time since August of this year. They can be heard barking loudly on most days and nights for hours. Their leashes cut into their necks and are too weak to withstand their aggressive lunges at passerbys and cars. They've already attacked another neighbor's dog and their owners walk them with no leash, allowing them to run amok. They have become a danger to the people living in this neighborhood, and small children going to the bus stop are scared to because of them. This was reported on seeclickfix (Request ID: # 17412930) on August 31st, and was referred to this Animal Welfare Division by Officer Adams on September 3rd, still nothing has been done about it and the dogs continue to cause a nuisance to this neighborhood. I've attached a photo taken by another neighbor that can also be found in the case listed above. The homeowners are new and need to be held accountable for the mistreatment of their pets. Went there fell in love with a dog. Got told that the breed I was looking at needed a lot of land and a fenced in back yard and that I had 1 inside cat and two 2 stray cats I couldn’t get the dog. Which I put on my application. But no one had any issues with that. Never asked me how much land I have. But I told them I have 2 acres of land plus my family lands that’s connected to mine for the dog to run on. Never asked me if I have a fenced in yard. Which by the way I do. All because this Chris guy who works there wanted the dog and gave a pitty party of a story as to why he wanted the dog. They denied us the dog. See Chris told us his dog didn't get along with the shelter dog. But every thing was ready for us to adopted him all the way up to the time Chris showed up. You will be told okay we will hold the animal until they are spayed or neutered but that’s not the case they will lie to you and come up with a lame excuse why you can’t adopted the dog. Thank you Tracey for breaking my family’s heart. DO NOT ADOPT from here unless you want to be lied to and given false hope.

Great spot to adopt your new family member! Staff were phenomenal and we were blessed to find out after our decision that November was a free adoption month. They also keep this facility super clean!

Hi, don’t Know if i‘m on the right webpage to tell that. We are on vacations here in Macon (from Germany) and we saw a poor streetdog at the gas station (citgo food mart). We think she has babys. Maybe someone can Check about her and the babies? It could get dangerous for them at this place. We bought her dog food at the Gas Station. She was super hungry :(

This review has nothing to do with the ladies who truly love & care for the animals in the shelter. I appreciate the conversations we had on April 30 while my girlfriend & I were there in hopes of adopting two dogs. The young lady at the front desk explained to us the steps to take in order to adopt the dogs. We did everything she said & we called back to let her know everything was completed. Tracey Weathers... Tracey Weathers fabricated a story of how one of the dogs we put in an application for (Chip) already had been claimed. That was a bogus story because there was nothing in the computer confirming that. For whatever reason, we are not quality people. I don't know what it is, but Tracey ruined our day & most importantly, she ruined the lives of two beautiful dogs.
