I found my baby at this shelter just over 3 years ago today. We have since moved out of Georgia. I went through some horrible life changes and Elliot was at my side for each one, adapting like a champ to any moves we had to make. He is my best friend, my protector, and my entire heart. He saved me more than I saved him and if it weren't for here, I never would have found him.

This is Max!!!! He is four year old and our best friend. We adopted Max from here in November 2023. He is an amazing addition to our family. We got him at the perfect time, all his shots were up to date, he was micro chipped, and fixed prior to getting him. He is currently in training for being a service dog. He is truly a blessing to our family. This was an awesome place to get him. They care about their animals and spend time taking them out regularly. The holding areas were clean and the animals looked healthy. All the staff was very polite and gave a lot of detail prior to adoption on Max's history. We felt very well informed and ready to bring our new family member home. Thank you all for what y'all do for the animals in this community.

Great spot to adopt your new family member! Staff were phenomenal and we were blessed to find out after our decision that November was a free adoption month. They also keep this facility super clean!

Went there fell in love with a dog. Got told that the breed I was looking at needed a lot of land and a fenced in back yard and that I had 1 inside cat and two 2 stray cats I couldn’t get the dog. Which I put on my application. But no one had any issues with that. Never asked me how much land I have. But I told them I have 2 acres of land plus my family lands that’s connected to mine for the dog to run on. Never asked me if I have a fenced in yard. Which by the way I do. All because this Chris guy who works there wanted the dog and gave a pitty party of a story as to why he wanted the dog. They denied us the dog. See Chris told us his dog didn't get along with the shelter dog. But every thing was ready for us to adopted him all the way up to the time Chris showed up. You will be told okay we will hold the animal until they are spayed or neutered but that’s not the case they will lie to you and come up with a lame excuse why you can’t adopted the dog. Thank you Tracey for breaking my family’s heart. DO NOT ADOPT from here unless you want to be lied to and given false hope.

Hi, don’t Know if i‘m on the right webpage to tell that. We are on vacations here in Macon (from Germany) and we saw a poor streetdog at the gas station (citgo food mart). We think she has babys. Maybe someone can Check about her and the babies? It could get dangerous for them at this place. We bought her dog food at the Gas Station. She was super hungry :(

Kilt my dog never got a chance to say Goodbye had him since he was 5 weeks nobody picks up the phone then when they do I get an attitude .
