This place is AWFUL! The nursing staff are very sweet but Dr. Grant is a horrible person. Forced me to wait over and hour and a half with my actively seizing dog before finally taking her in. I waiting another hour and half and then Dr. Grant called to BERATE me saying “how could you wait so long to get her seen?”. Lady YOU MADE ME WAIT! Wound up costing me nearly $700 for 2 blood tests and a euthanasia. If you value your pets life I recommend going to Wilson in Washington Michigan instead.
Excellent service! They were able to get my Lola in within an hour of calling, they also took amazing care of her. I have to say I was a bit on guard due to the previous reviews, but they were able to handle my dogs emergency fast and gave me great service when our normal vet was unavailable! Would definitely recommend 😊
I would never recommend this place. We got here at 6:30pm and they took my cat back and the doctor didn’t even do anything to treat his fever or give him fluids or any sort of treatment for 4 hours. We sat in the parking lots for FOUR hours just for them to say they don’t know what is wrong. FOUR HOURS of my cat sitting in their chaotic clinic in pain with no help. The doctor finally called us on the phone and was very snarky and rude and acted like she had absolutely no idea why he had a fever and no idea what was going on. They ran zero test and gave him NOTHING for that entire time he was here. They charged us $500 for WHAT? What did they do to help my sick animal that cost $500. I feel like a terrible cat mom for even bringing him here. To trust these people to care for my sick baby was a mistake. After all this time I have no answers and a sick kitty to take home tonight and he has to just be in pain and suffer until I can get him to our regular vet tomorrow. I am literally writing this from the parking lot- as I sit and wait and wait for them to bring out my baby that is leaving probably more traumatized than before. This wasn’t just me- every single person sitting in their cars waiting to hear back has expressed frustration with the care and the extremely expensive prices. I am so sad for my kitty. I am just thanking the stars above that his issues weren’t time sensitive because I don’t think he would’ve received treatment in time.
Horrible experience. uncaring. My pet was not properly diagnosed until the next day at my professional , caring veterinary practice. When calling to discuss my concerns, I was met with pure nastiness. Steer clear of this place! As evidence of all the terrible reviews, this facility truly does not care. It is all about the money. Still in the Covid era. That works better for them as they don't need to face you.
Last night we had an emergency and had to bring our dog to the vet to be put down. We knew she was old and not healthy but to see her struggling so much when we got home was devastating. The nurses and doctor at Great Lakes were extremely nice, helpful and professional. The entire process was very quick. They were so sweet in an awful time of our lives. Thank you staff for taking care of our Gracie in her final hours.
DON'T TAKE YOUR PETS HERE! ATROCIOUS! Terrible experience today with Dr. Audo and the whole staff. Also, the treatment area, not just the lobby, is full of free roaming animals. Hopefully your pets do well with other animals. Our cat starting grunting and wheezing yesterday and got even worse tonight to the point where every breath was a grunt or wheeze. He appeared to have labored breathing as he was breathing very heavily. This place does not allow you to come in which is common among most places. They took our cat in and put him in a cage around the other loose animals. They don't take your pet to a private room to do an assessment. This cat is terrified of other animals and is uneasy around other people but never scratches, bites or hisses. He just hides. They called us and said "We couldn't do a complete exam because he is hissing and scratching at us. I kind of listened to his heart and lungs and they sound fine." We were confused at this because this is not typical of him. They then stated that they wanted to do a X-ray but they needed to sedate him. I don't know why you would sedate a cat that is potentially having breathing issues and we did not want our cat to get sedation as we were skeptical that he needed it. After going back and forth with the vet and vet tech, they agreed to let us come in and see how he was doing first and see if we can help calm him down. So we go in to see him and he is in a cage with animals just roaming around outside of the cages and on the tables. No wonder he is scared. The tech said "You're going to have to get him because he is scratching at us!". I opened the cage and all he did was open his mouth to hiss but barely got a sound out. Picked him right up and he never scratched, bit or hissed again. He just wanted to be held. He just needed his owners that he is used to in order to calm down. We took him to a private exam room and he was a little uneasy but he could've been examined easily. The vet refused to assess him while we were there and stated if we didn't give him sedation then they weren't going to treat him. Why would you sedate a cat that is doing fine and is possibly having respiratory issues? The vet then stated "There has to be mutual trust between us and if you can't trust us then we can't do our job and you will have to take him to your regular vet". What?! You don't trust any of your pet owners to even allow them in the building. ALL OF THE STAFF do their best to not communicate and never see any of the pets owners. RIDICULOUS!! Dr. Audo and the whole staff need to take some classes on therapeutic communication and learn to properly work with all animals and their owners. If you can't handle the pet and their owners then get out of this field. QUIT!
