1000/10 recommend. Our 8 week old “Papi” was in horrible shape when we brought him in through the emergency department. They were so welcoming and they saved his little life. They were so attentive, loving and supportive of all decisions. Our little Papi is doing amazing, recovering, and getting back to his normal self everyday.
I took my cat to be shaved last Friday. Of course he had to be put to sleep. I had a great experience from the person who made the appointment for me on the telephone, to the receptionist who greeted me when I took my cat in, to a different lady at the front desk when I picked my cat up that afternoon. They told me they could do the service for me, but not to expect a professional grooming job. The result was fabulous! My cat looks probably better than he did when I took him to previous vet clinic who did have grooming services associated with shaving cat. I am very, very pleased with Southside Vet Hospital.
Was out fishing on a late Saturday afternoon and my mini weenie, Crabbie Pattie, swallowed a fish hook that had been baited with a piece of hot dog. I heard her hacking on something and saw the fishing line hanging out of her mouth I panicked and gently tugged the string seeing if I could work the hook out but she had chewed the fishing line in 2. I immediately looked up and called the nearest emergency vet, Southside animal hospital. They answered the phone quickly and after I explained what happened, their response made me feel like they are truly there to help. Went in and met Dr. Mary Anne White. She is hands down just the BEST! She was super nice and so gentle and patient with my spoiled quarantine baby. They got her in for X-rays quickly and confirmed she had swallowed a hook. Her and the staff put a lot of effort to find an available facility to try to remove the hook with endoscopy equipment. Unfortunately, none was available on a Saturday evening. Dr. White was able to operate on Pattie a few hours later to remove the hook and about 7" of attached fishing line out of her stomach. Pattie seems to be handling the incision well. I am so impressed by the high level of customer service the entire staff provided. They called with regular updates and were very thorough on explaining her after care treatment when discharged. They even refunded me some money for services they had billed for but ended up not using. Everything about my experience here was fantastic considering the circumstances. It's nice to find a practice people can trust. Your pet deserves the best care, just bring them here. All the staff I interacted with are amazing. Thank you Dr. White for saving my baby. Thank you for keeping our kiki comfortable until his final moments, and for letting us say goodbye to him. We would like to remind anyone reading to make sure they keep all vaccines up to date even for indoor cats.
My cat had an emergency last night and they were wonderful. They were attuned to the situation, communicated clearly, were transparent about costs, and explained all options to me without worrying about upselling or making an extra buck. They seemed to really care about my cat and coordinated continuing care with my regular vet. Their instructions were super clear even when my head was spinning. One of the best experiences I've had at any business in San angelo.
Our cat, Rickey, decided to eat a sewing needle at 9:00 PM on a Friday night... We took him to Southside Animal Hospital immediately. We were first met with Kaylee, who was so calm and knowledgable. Our first interaction with her definitely calmed our nerves. Dr. Russell met with us within 10 minutes of our check-in and explained that Rickey would need an x-ray and most likely surgery. He answered all of our questions without any hesitation and was so kind as well as confident in his work. Rickey was ready for pickup within two hours and everything went well. The vet tech, Melissa, discharged Rickey back to us while answering all of our questions and explaining in detail his discharge plan. We are SO grateful to have had such an amazing care team for our furry friend. Thank you Southside Animal Hospital for all that you do!
