A must-visit for the Stuart resort area to get up close and personal with local wildlife. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating. Learned so much from the zoologist there about raptors, gators and common injuries to the wildlife brought in! Such a great opportunity to learn from people so dedicated and passionate about their work!

I found a baby possum and called on a Saturday. They took him right away. They are super kind and doing great work. They run off of donations, which is incredible. Definitely a local cause worth supporting.

The staff here are the kindest people. I saved a red shoulder hawk from the middle of a highway in middle of nowhere POLK county. I called and staff was prepared to stay overtime on the weekend to relieve and care for this majestic bird. I'm so happy they help in this hawks journey to recovery.

It was a lovely way to spend an hour with the kids. They loved it. The volunteers keep the place clean and take good care of the animals. Cindy was especially great, showing us a couple owls close up. The woman who fed the pelicans was so nice and very informative! I can't remember her name unfortunately. There are a few picnic tables in a shaded area, close to the birds so you can watch them while you eat. It is very small, only a few large cages with permanently injured turtles and birds of prey on display for educational purposes in their forever home. Everything is done by volunteers and paid for by donations. Nice refuge off the beaten path for learning through nature and creation appreciation time. It's great that they allow the public to come through, and encourage you to take your time. The rest of the animals that get released after rehab are hidden. It's a great facility and operation they are running!

We loved the informal tour guide from one of the principals whose been there more than 20 years. Great birds of prey and tortoises!

My son, my granddaughters and myself went to this wildlife center. We have lived in Florida for over 30 years I have never encountered also being an animal, conservationist, wildlife, enthusiast! And many degrees in biology. I was dismayed to see the harsh conditions to which the birds were living. All of the several birds were tied up by the legs on purchase all together in one cage. I don’t see how they ever flew only merely to possibly take out and show there was no one available the day that I was there to do a tour. They advertised as they had alligators. They said there was one alligator in the pond on the property of which we could not see in one baby one in a small Tupperware enclosure. I worked with seminal Indians and had my own wildlife sanctuary in Boynton Beach. So I know how to take care of animals , for all the donations, this treasure coast must receive would certainly allow them to build more cages and more suitable ones, and not to have all the birds tied up. I saw we saw pathetically a bald eagle, so sad as he was tied to the floor of the cage. I asked one of the care workers, he said that it was his for his own good that he’s old. Where is this rehabilitation? There were snakes and a locked up enclosure that you cannot even see through I don’t even know how I would wanna get in there to look at them. And the young caregiver couldn’t give any answers. The tortoises, which were far too many to just show as a sanctuary could’ve very easily been let go in the acreage of woods surrounding it as they are native to this area they did not need to be kept in small enclosures. This is supposedly not a zoo, but a sanctuary! Needless to say, when we left, we were all somewhat dumbfounded and disappointed even my four year old and my eight year old granddaughter, and their young lives, could not understand why all the birds were all chained up I don’t know what their reasoning was I would never go back, and I don’t understand how people enjoyed themselves here as they might not have ever experienced a true giving sanctuary! .
