My dad and I had to take his senior dog Lily in on a Saturday for end of life services. She had arthritis in her spine and she took a turn for the worse over the weekend and was in great pain and couldn't move. The staff at Pet Emergency Service were FANTASTIC. Dr. White was the kindest, most considerate veterinarian I have ever met. All of the staff were so compassionate and patient with me, my dad, and with our Lily. Honestly from the bottom of our hearts we want to thank all of you for helping us through such as sad occasion and for being so kind to Lily in her transition from this life to the next.

Called when arrived as per signage. Was told they'd be out with paperwork shortly thereafter. 45 minutes went by no one checking on us. Called two more times after that. After the third call someone came out with paperwork. Had to call again to get someone to take paperwork, about 30 minutes of waiting after paperwork was received. The time lapsed during this process was almost 2 hours. Paperwork was submitted at 1:00p.m. up to this point we were never notified of what the wait times to be seen were expected to be. After a total of waiting 3 hours and was told they prioritize emergent situations. I was told that they where more urgent then puppy and I would still have to wait longer. I was told if I leave I lose my spot after what looked like so many people came and went and came back and where still seen. This was very unprofessional. If you are here and have been waiting in line to be seen and then other that just showed up where seen before you what's the point. Will not go here again. I understand this is a pet ER but even in the hospital you must wait your turn. After too many hours of waiting I went inside to speak to the staff and was told that if your puppy isn't dying we won't see them.

My precious dog needed an emergency C-section and I couldn't find anyone else locally to get her in- they wanted me to give then nearly $6k up front before they would begin, & i would have to drive my dog to another clinic over an hour away because they dont have any impatient accommodations- I told them i had about $1500 on me and $1300 on care credit, so then they suggested to put her to sleep because I couldn't give them $6k! After doing a basic exam, they stressed to my son & i that she was in critical condition & wanted $800 to "stabilize " her! Unreal! Thankfully after driving back to my regular vet & walking in with my dog, they had the mercy to get her in right away for less than a quarter of the price of Yak PetER! I will NEVER return to this clinic!

About 3 years ago, I had to rush my 6 mo old puppy into Yakima Pet Emergency after finding her with a block of rat poison. They spent quite a long time feeding her activated charcoal and having her puke. They were honest and told me she probably won’t make it. But sure enough, they saved her life and we got our best friend back. As a result, Miley was very mistrusting of people after that and was very skittish. Because of this incident, I’m a full time dog trainer specializing in behavior modification. My goal was to help Miley feel more comfortable. But it turned out to be much more than that. So I owe Yakima Pet Emergency and the employees involved, a great debt. I would like to repay this debt in some way..I know you guys have a good samaritan program, I’m interested to hear more about how I can help.

As a traveler passing through the area with a dog suddenly getting sick, they were amazing! Other then filling out paperwork, there was no waiting at all. They went over possible procedures and costs, but from a urine test, they were quick to diagnose the issue and which eliminated what other tests would be necessary. The only thing they recommended is that I let our dog stay with them for much of the day until they were satisfied with his condition. They’re open till 9:00 which give lots of time to observe the pets recovery. I highly recommend them!

My dog had a UTI. The staff was caring and friendly. It’s definitely spendy, but I knew it was important to get my dog treated asap.
