I was lucky. I adopted a Cavalier King Charles from them the other day. He's amazing, and so are the girls behind the desk. What a horribly hard job they have. I can't imagine how hard it must be to work there. The place was clean and the staff was clear on what they were looking for in a home for my little guy. I'm glad they decided I could take him home.

We really appreciated how much they care for the animals. We adopted our lovely dog here, with everything included, for $20. I couldn't believe it!! They're partnered with Prince William Animal Hospital as well, which makes it very convenient to share any history of the pet. They said our first visit with our new dog is free! Thank you so much for helping us find our new family member.

This animal shelter is wonderful it is a gift truly a gift to be able to call ahead of time and ask specifics on what they have get along with cats and dogs for safety before going to visit. You don't want to fall in love with the wrong one and have an accident or see your beloved hurt at home when you get there with the wrong buddy. They paired us up by phone and when we got there we did this amazing meet and greet. Two shelter staff took each dog on a walk together and let each other sniff the urine and finally each other and then a little bit of a test time to see what they would do on a little bit longer of leashes before letting them walk together side by side. It was a huge success and I'm so grateful. I'm just outstandingly happy with our new best buddy. My dog has a friend again after he lost his girl to cancer at 16 years old. Time can't be fought I guess and love can happen again. My heart is swelling up again as I talk into my phone so I'm going to stop but I highly recommend this shelter and the staff Update: months later mid pandemic SNOW IS THE BEST FOR CHEER AND COMPANIONSHIP! Well I can't do much else with the 6-foot distance thing I can hug this dog look in her eyes and tell her I love her and she really appreciates it. Apparently one of the Animal Control Officers even was called sponsored her! Thank you to that person because she is the most tremendous girl ever and the goodie bag that she came with had so many toys and helpful tips it's made our transition just so easy and joyful. This dog is a joy I highly recommend any dog that the shelter considers for you with your specific lifestyle and pets at home! Please listen to them and let them make recommendations. Remember not every dog is going to show properly when it's nervous and out of place but it has the potential to grow with you and bring you something that you didn't know you even needed. I thank God for the shelter they even let me adopt a rabbit that is perfect for the children that come to this nonprofit to ride horses and pet animals. Jellybean is the happiest rabbit and really enjoys the attention of the little children being so big and cuddly. He's a very happy rabbit now thank you guys so much

We found our new family member here and couldn't be happier! Staff was very nice and patient, despite our over excitement and unnecessary frequent phone calls. Thank you!

It's always sad to see so many dogs in the kennel waiting for new homes. First time going to a shelter trying to find a friend for my current dog after my older dog past recently. The animal shelter was full but this weekend is National Clear the shelter event allowing free adoption for dogs older than a year and discounted for less than a year so hopefully it's successful for this shelter. It was actually cleaner than expected, with only a few dogs that pee'd in their cell which can only be expected being scared and anxious. Papers for each dog was posted on their cage giving decent information. We were able to ask about a specific dog and had no problem getting answers with the front desk. If you want to engage with a dog they have rooms to meet face to face with the flurries. Please visit and adopt!
