I adopted my sweet boy from this place about 2 years ago. I picked which dog I wanted to meet from the pictures on the wall, my dog was the second one I met. They told they he seemed good with other dogs and in good health. Turns out he was very reactive and had a very sensitive stomach. He's come a long way now and now has a whole litter of puppies and doesn't really care for them, but isn't aggressive or reactive towards them. He was named by the shelter John Wayne. He has since been renamed Hog because he makes snorting sounds every time he smells something. Best decision I ever made.

I adopted a pup over the weekend from AACC and the process was so smooth and simple from the second I walked through the door. Andrea was very informative and helped me through the application process, meeting my girl, and all the take home information. The amount of knowledge and understanding Andrea exudes made me feel extremely confident and well-prepared for the new addition to our family! Thank you, Andrea! Because of you, our family’s heart grew that much more!

My grandpup Nero was wrongfully euthanized. For 2 months we were searching for foster parents, was on the wait-list for a few organizations. Even had him on adopt a pet. But the time was getting short. I had invited a volunteer from Animal control to come and assess him for eligibility to get adopted. He never showed any signs of aggression he is a retriever Chesapeake Bay and black Lab. He was there for 4 days just 4. They said he lunged at them. Well duh smart ones. You take a dog away from his environment and put him in a strange place , no familiar faces and ur coming towards him in a way that made him scared of you. Y'all are the damn experts. You didn't give him a damn chance.ebsn tho I surrendered him not by choice. You told me he was good on the 13th then on the 14th they gave my son the same answer. Then the 15th u put him down..what happened on the 15th!!!!. I gave them both numbers and he agreed that if anything changes please call one of us, he agreed and i got off the phone feeling good about my decision!. Your animal killers, u wrongfully killed my dog. I will never give u a review that's good. Everyone will know parents don't matter when they have no other option. Rules need to be changed, makes no sense. Justice for Nero!!!!!! He deserved better!! Does he look aggressive

Animal control are liars and scammers. My dog has never been aggressive towards anyone or anything the 2 years I had him. Shots are up to date, very healthy 2 year old dog. But I called to check up and they told me he’s been put down for aggressive behavior. I asked if he bit anyone or anything, she told me he was scared to come out the kennel for a revaluation, and jumped at a few people but that’s not aggressive behavior that’s hyperactive which can be controlled. And if you work at an animal shelter and can’t keep dogs in control you need to think about getting another job because obviously you are not qualified. I had qualified Dog trainers come to visit and suggested animal control for me and said he would fit perfectly. But animal control saw otherwise and didn’t even give a chance to call anyone or talk to the trainer. The trainer said animal control hung up on her after she said he’s not an aggressive dog he’s hyperactive. Very shady business and if you can’t keep you dog and it’s out of your control do not trust animal control because they will leave you with trauma.

I had to go in and renew my dog's license. The gal that helped me out was very friendly and knowledgeable. I've already adopted 2 dogs from animal control. My first pasted away. As soon as my last one does, I'm going to adopt again. Update; So my other dog passed away. However, we had to move to an apartment, so im not going to be adopting another dog. I also had a cat. Unfortunately, he passed away a week after we moved at the ripe old age of 12 years. I ended up adopting a cat. It's much easier to care for in an apartment. She's a cutie.

I wouldn’t give this place a zero including anchorage Alaska. They are quick to put dogs down not trying to give any warning or contacting somebody animals want to be loved just like anyone else. My dog was put there in April and put down on the 24th with no contact, I suggest anybody that goes there not to put their dogs there if they need help and I want to say Alaska is not dog friendly. They are Quick to saying animals need homes and telling people to adopt to make sure Every Animal Needs a Home And far from protecting animals and making it difficult to keep your dog for anywhere, you go hotels flights to make sure they stay with a good owner And keeping them from being abused, but they’re the main abusers I don’t care what type of breed a dog is. They deserve to live just like anybody else. If a normal person was being done like a dog. I’m pretty sure it’ll be all over the news. and putting a company on blast so I suggest anybody that comes there to tour do not bring your animal there. It won’t be safe and call contacts someone in Anchorage Alaska if you were traveling with your dog or anybody that has a dog to check into things so you wouldn’t have to deal with something terrible like this.
