Friend for life was great in answering all my questions about the kittens I adopted - Luke and Leia! They worked well to accommodate me in adopting the kittens as well. They were really thorough in the adoption process and gave me lots of time with all the kittens available before I decided to adopt. Gail (the kittens foster mom) is amazing!! And Erika at the rescue was very helpful in answering any of my questions even after I adopted them.
My husband and I were so impressed with the Friends For Life Animal Rescue. Searching thru hundreds of possible rescues pointed us to them. They run a very efficient program that makes sure each animal is healthy, has their shots, etc. before being released. Zander (we call him Beau) became an extremely special guy for us the minute we saw him. He loves every person and dog we see on our walks and each person is drawn to that adorable face. Thank you so much, for all you do.
Great staff! They are really interested in making a good match between potential owner and cat/dog! They provide a very large room so you can really see what the dog is like before adopting. Good interaction is key to adoption of any cat or dog.
I've adopted both my cats from here. They really care about the pets and take good care of them. I definitely recommend if you are looking to adopt.
Last week I adopted a 5 year old little mixed breed dog from Friends for Life Animal Rescue in Gilbert. His name is Buddy (formerly Casper). Thanks to the entire staff, my experience was simply outstanding. The care, compassion and understanding of the volunteers working with me to find that special companion, was absolutely great. Their dedication to helping all the stray and neglected animals was so evident in everything they did. The facility was clean, well organized and it was obvious that all the animals awaiting their new homes, were getting tender loving care. My Westie of 12 years, died suddenly just 9 weeks ago. She can never be replaced, but after one short week, Buddy & I are bonding, he has already captured my heart, and he is adjusting to his new home just fine. My sincere appreciation to volunteer Toy and all the other staff members, as well as foster mom Cindy. You are to be commended for all you do in helping with these rescued animals!
I am writing to share our disappointing experience during our recent visit to your facility. My wife and I are avid supporters of non-profit, no-kill animal shelters. We leverage our social media presence to promote donations and adoptions, having successfully partnered with Best Friends in Los Angeles last year. Our collaborative efforts resulted in: • Tens of thousands of dollars in donations • 90% adoption rate within three months We also recognize the dedication of unpaid volunteers and staff, often donating to support their efforts. This year, we selected your shelter due to our relocation. Our approach involves adopting an animal to assess staff dynamics, operational procedures, and overall environment. Unfortunately, our encounter was marred by a rude and pedantic staff member. Specific concerns include: • Dismissive remarks and unwarranted criticism • Restrictive access to certain cats without justification • Condescending instructions on interacting with animals • Failure to accommodate our daughter's natural curiosity Reviewing online feedback reveals similar experiences from other visitors, frequently met with defensiveness rather than understanding. As someone with over a decade of experience working with in-state and out-of-state adoption agencies, I strongly recommend reassessing your staffing to better serve the animals and potential adopters. Unprofessional behavior undermines the shelter's mission, ultimately harming the animals you aim to protect.
