Was trying to adopt one cat, ended up getting sisters, Tia and Tamara. Tiffanie, who fostered them were great and even let me borrow a kitty condo to allow the kittens to decompress.

As a 20+ year dog owner I was denied adoption bc I refused to lie or agree to their policy that owners must agree not to have dogs outside of a fenced yard without being leashed or tethered. I have a large private piece of property nowhere near a main road and not within a subdivision. My dogs enjoy laying on the porch or on the driveway enjoying the sun and relaxing completely supervised. They love to run and play. As much as I appreciate the notion of ensuring a dogs safety, the policy needs to take into account living situations. I am insulted and offended that I was denied adoption TWO dogs into a loving home and family based on this policy which is generic and doesn’t take into account the fact that not all dog owners live in apartments or in subdivisions. I don’t lock my dogs in crates for hours on end while I work. They have access to a dog door to go into their fenced yard 24/7. They get fed and played with. They sleep with the adults on the bed. They get never ending love. We don’t board. We don’t leave our dogs while we jet off on vacation. Our dogs come first always and we were denied. The policy needs to be individualized not generic. I will never recommend this adoption to anyone. Such a shames cause we would have given these dogs an amazing home.

When someone (Betsy) recommends a dog getting ran over rather than taking a dog in!! Would never donate to them! What a horrible woman! What good are you if you’re not about rescuing the animals.. your only interest is taking in donations for your pockets. This poor baby needed help and you hope that she gets run over??? Then she wants to text message me because I ended the call. I hope that someone higher than her sees this and calls me soon because I will be taking this higher up. What an awful woman, hope the other “volunteers “ aren’t like her!!

They are so much carrying about their responsibilities and understand the situation around. I really appreciated to Katie and her team. Good luck and God bless you all. Beautiful memories I wanna share with you.

We were approved to adopt a sweet, but very anxious/nervous dog (submissive urination, fear of being held). The original foster was fantastic. Unfortunately, the dog's behavioral issues were more severe than we thought, and after we adopted and got the vet records, saw there was a history of biting. Talked with a vet and a specialist through my pet insurance and was told it could take a long time to undo those behaviors. We did what we thought was the selfless, right thing (less than a month in) by admitting we thought he deserved a family that could dedicate more time to working with him. That wasn't received well. We had a sick family member, and I gave it a few days to think it over before agreeing it was right to allow him the best chance with an adopter that could dedicate that time to him. Tearfully dropped off the pup an hour away at a new foster, leaving his crate and things we purchased for him to keep. Her words: "Don't worry, he'll forget about you as soon as you're gone." I'd stick to real estate and not any kind of role that requires empathy. In 18 years, I've adopted four dogs; one lost to cancer, the other to old age at 17. This was not my first rodeo. But to treat someone rudely for realizing a pet deserves more support is unkind, as were the thoughtless words of the other "foster". I would also allow potential adopters to view vet records first to make a more informed decision. I almost swore off adopting after this situation, but thankfully we found another rescue who was very up front with us and allowed us a few trial days to decide. We just celebrated our one year gotcha day anniversary. I think the application process is fine, but depending on the foster, your experience will vary. Some of them have no business interacting with people, and others are kind and truly dedicated. If the situation feels off, trust your instinct.

I was nervous reading the reviews of this place but had a great experience. I submitted my application and within a day someone called to interview and get the vet records for my existing dog. Later that week I was put in contact with the foster who reached out in a couple days. Kris (the foster) was great setting up time to meet and answering all our questions! We set up the home inspection the next day which was quick and easy. Overall the whole thing took maybe 2 or 3 weeks and we are loving the new addition to the family! Kris did an amazing job taking care of him and made our whole experience so great!
