Description The Erie Humane Society's mission is to RESCUE, REHABILITATE, AND REHOME needy pets in our community. We are a local, independent, registered 501-c3 nonprofit, no-kill, fear-free animal shelter, and have been proudly serving the Erie community since 1892. We are pet adoption agency and also operate a non-profit pet wellness clinic. We also have the longest standing Animal Cruelty Department in the Erie region, 35 years, and employ two Humane Officers with a combined experience of 25 years.

Their adoption process was super easy and smooth. The staff is very kind and takes great care of their animals. Most shelters have tight restrictions on adoption and I was very surprised they let us adopt out two cats at one time! This is rare and my brother and I can’t thank them enough for allowing us to give these angels a great forever home. I will definitely recommend them to anyone looking to adopt! Attached is my sweet baby Beans!

Best shelter, they care for the animals very well, it's clean, great employees, caring volunteers. Wonderful clinic with sympathetic employees when you have to make the decision to let your fur baby pass. Offer beautiful jewlery and urns. I carry my babies cremains with me in a beautiful pendant.

Erie Humane Society "Night at the Shelter" was such an amazing experience, and I was thankful to be able to participate in this fundraiser. Fatboy was the best. I pray that someone sees him and adopts him soon.

I usually wouldn’t like to do this but why would I need to be trained to volunteer here. Like all I want to do is hangout with the dogs. Like I get it I need to know what to do but I already do. Why would I need to be trained?! Why do I need to be trained to hangout with the dogs and give them love and comfort. I don’t want to be a professional volunteer.

We just adopted our puppy (Goldfish) now known as Mia today at the adoption event.We can’t say enough on how professional and caring the staff is. The animals are well-cared for truly loved there. We highly recommend the Erie Humane Society for your next furry friend.
