Totally rude. I have a Kitten that somebody dropped off with the bone sticking out of its tail, full of parasites. I took it to the vet to have its tail surgically repaired and have treated him for all parasites. He has a fresh clean bill of health but we cannot keep him. Everybody's been telling us to call the shelter so I did. I explained to the gentleman that answered the phone that we have a kitten that was dumped off on our doorstep in really bad shape and that I had done everything including paying for the surgery that it needed on its tail and that the kitten had a full bill of Health and was ready to be rehomed. All I was calling them for was to get information on adoption services or rescue websites or any information they could give me to find it a new home. I didn't even ask them to take the kitten! I just asked for help on how to rehome it and I got accused of not being prepared to help a kitten that was abandoned at my house. The gentleman was very rude and basically told me I should've thought of what to do with the cat before I put all this money into it and saved it's life. I was waiting for him to tell me to just ignore the next animal I find in crisis. I rescued a kitten and they told me I shouldn't have done anything. I wasn't complaining of the money that I put into this kitten. He wouldn't let me talk and kept interrupting me. He was trying to tell me stories of this and that and to ask my vet clinic if they know of anyone who wanted a cat. He kept repeating the same thing over and over and it had nothing to do with what I was trying to get accomplished... just finding out if they had any information on where I could find a good home for this kitten other than asking my vet. I will never suggest anyone even ever call them, take an animal to them or even adopt one from them, as they don't seem to care much about the pets or the people. Or at least that one gentleman didn't today. Absolutely no help and all I was trying to do is get info, not pass another kitten onto them.
Overall I have had good experiences with them. I have 2 cats(Noel and Noah) that I got from them and they are happy and healthy.
This was my fourth adoption of a four legged friend, first time at the ANNA shelter and also my first cat. Staff was friendly, attentive and answered all of my questions. I had already looked at their website and had all my paperwork in hand and ready to go. I came in to look at a female calico cat and ended up leaving with an orange and white male. Over the years of adopting I’ve come to realize that sometimes you get to pick, sometimes you don’t and sometimes they pick you-which is what I’d like to think Hubert ( formerly known as Cuppie) did. It’s been about 2 weeks and he’s settled in nicely and showing his calm but quirky personality. Thanks for a great experience!
I have added cats and recently rats to my family from here and this place needs much more appreciation from every direction. Everyone is very friendly and adoption fees are quite low. It's definitely worth the opportunity to go make a new best friend and help out an animal in need. The place is very clean all things considered and it seems like the people that help those animals really like what they do..
My husband, daughter and I were very impressed with the friendly and helpful staff, especially Gretchen and Ruth, the director when we adopted our forever furbaby, Casey, who also picked us right off the bat to be his forever family amongst all of the other dogs we looked at and it'll be a week tomorrow since we brought him home. Ruth, went above and beyond by contacting our landlord, who took a little bit to respond back, and we waited for his answer up until they closed at 4, and left, only to get a call back from them saying the landlord approved us and we could turn around and come right back to pick him up. Casey has been a truly delightful addition to our family, as he's an awesome cuddlebug, very attentive to his surroundings and very playful. He fell in love with one of our recliners already and claimed stake to it as his. We love him so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️! Thank you all so much!!
This is a wonderful place to adopt your next pet. The staff are friendly and helpful. They take excellent care of the animals in their shelter. I would definitely recommend!
