Outstanding! Just really nice and caring people. We had a duck with a broken leg behind our house. We just saw him on the shore not moving but moving his head. We tried to catch it to bring it in but it evaded us. We called another wildlife rescue, but they couldn't be bothered because it was after 5p. I left a message on Wildlife Center of Southwest Florida and they returned our call. A very nice man came at 9p to capture and bring the duck in for treatment. Looked like an alligator almost got him. Broken leg and lost most of it's tail feathers. I am very impressed with their dedication. I will be donating. Keep up the good work! It's very much noticed and appreciated!!
Literally the best people 🥲🙏🏽💗 — I had an injured young raccoon in my yard & didn’t want to call animal control or have it put down as I love animals and raccoons. I asked on Facebook bc I’m originally not from here and they told me to contact this wildlife center. Called them and within 15mins they were here & were the most amazing people 🥹 It’s humans like these who make the world a better place and now this raccoon will get the help it needs and life a good life 🥹 So so grateful and so much respect and admiration for all you people do!! 💗
This place is amazing and it is because of its volunteers and what they do. Please consider making donations to this wonderful place that takes in wildlife in need. When I retire I am gone to volunteer here. I love animals and wish I had a farm to take them in and help them when they need it. But since I don’t, I have Wildlife Center of SW Florida.
My son and his friend found a mother opossum who was hit by a car and had one baby still alive. It didn’t have its eyes open yet so I knew it wouldn’t survive unless it was tube fed. I called this place and was told they would be happy to take him in. When I dropped the little opossum off I immediately knew he was in good hands. It’s always so heart warming to see people working together to care for wild animals. I hope the baby makes it through this tragic start to life with the help of these wildlife angels 💗
I found a newborn bunny in a flowerbed in the dirt baking in the scorching sun. At 1st I didnt kno what it was or if it was even alive. Then I saw very slight movement & the ears.. it's a newborn bunny eyes still shut. I wrapped him in paper towels with cotton & tried to feed him. I dipped qtip in water & milk & eventually he started to feed... but very little. I realized I cldnt care for this precious little baby & it might die. I take care of my ill elderly mother & work full time. I had no idea what to do... I googled bunny rescue in Sarasota. Several places came up but as I called each one either the number was no longer in service or they didnt take baby bunnies. I was running out of hope & it was getting late. There was one left to call but 25 miles away! A very nice woman named Chris answered I told her what happened & asked if they take baby bunnies & she said Absolutely!!!! I was so happy I said I'm on my way! But it was after 5p I was 25 miles away & they close at 6p. I tried to feed him again then put him in a shoebox with lots of cotton & took off for Venice. I got there at 5:50pm & Chris was there waiting for me.. by the way she gave me perfect directions! She put the baby inside & said they will put in an incubator & feed it soon. I was SO grateful! I love animals & hate to see any suffer or die. 50 miles round trip to save one baby bunny... I'd do it again in a second!! This place & the people who work there are amazing!! Please donate I did! Thank u Chris & thank u Wildlife Center 💛🌞💛🌞💛
They took a baby mourning dove I brought, they put it in an incubator. I asked questions and I got answers! It was so nice to feel like I was leaving the baby in capable hands. One of the rehabilitators lives there to feed the babies. That's commitment. I give this place 5 stars!
