The day we found out that Dr. McCartney was at City Paws was the best day! One of our dogs has cancer and Dr. McCartney was the first doctor to diagnose what was really wrong. He was taking care of our 3 dogs at a different place, and we were extremely unhappy, when he left. He was always extremely caring, considerate and just the best!!!! At first we just transferred one dog to his care, then we transferred the other two, as well. Thank you, Dr. McCartney for everything you do! Thank you to staff at City Paws for being extremely caring, as well. I am so glad we found you!!!

The good: very happy with the care from the vets. Top notch. Seems like they really care and are quite knowledgeable. The bad:. From day one its been very difficult to get them to call me back. From refilling scrpts to scheduling follow up visits. They texted me saying my dog was due for a visit. I've called twice per week for 4 weeks and never got thru nor received a call back. My dogs health is a priority and ill be taking by business to someone who shares that view. I understand being under staffed. Hire more people or lose more business to balance the demand Thank you for reachimg out but IM a single guy working 60 hour per week and an owner of rental property that keeps me Super busy. It would be much easier for me if there was someone there that answered the phone. I dont have time for the phone tag. But thank you for the service. I am super happy with the veterinary care

We have had the absolute best experience with City Paws. The entire staff has been so welcoming and caring to our cat, Stretch and to us. They have always made us feel comfortable, explained things to us thoroughly and have been there to answer any of our questions. The facility is always clean, safe and accommodating. Lastly, Dr. Nguy is an absolute ANGEL. They whole staff is incredible, but Dr. Nguy is the sweetest, most gentle and knowledgeable vet we have had. She took time after hours to answer our anxious questions when our cat was very sick, took time out of her weekend to email us back about concerns we had and has encouraged us and really been an emotional help for us during this time. We highly recommend City Paws to anyone looking for veterinary car for their furry pals.

Excellent first visit. Staff, extremely personable & pleasant. Cegi & Dr. Mattes made mywelf and baby Nola feel very comfortable. At 11 weeks Nola was due for a good once over and vaccinations which were all completed efficiently...most of all with great care & concern. Dr. Mattes was knowledgeable; explaining processes well along the way. Ceji created a placard detailing my Pug puppy's 1st visit for a super cute photo op. I appreciated the memory-creator. The clinic is clean, well organized, personally I found the open space very inviting and a lot less claustrophobic. Location is convenient on the Botanical Heights neighborhood just across the street from Don Brown and in the same plaza as Pet Connection. Parking is plentiful. Indoor seating, cat coming towels, treats and resources are available. A reminder was sent for appointment reminder prior to visit as well as discharge summary emailed after her visit. Pricing is reasonable. Nola is looking forward to her next visit already. Recommended!

Unfortunately, I only used them one time. I had a sick dog, and I'm from Florida, so I needed a vet urgently. They were kind and super thorough and helped me make a very difficult decision to send my Hector across the Rainbow Bridge. The entire staff was very empathetic and made the process as easy as possible.

The only reason why I'm giving two stars is because once you are physically at the clinic, the customer service is good overall. Communication at this clinic is really awful. 9 times out of 10 I have to call upwards of 7 times to get through to someone. I will always leave messages when I call and rarely ever get a call back. There were times when the clinic reached out to me via email for me to confirm a plan of treatment, I would email them back with the confirmation and then nothing. it would be a few days later and I would have to call several times before getting a response. It took two weeks of me calling several times and the new clinic reaching out to finally get my dogs records sent over. Even when trying to order my dogs medications from 1800PetMeds, PetMeds would reach out to me asking for my help in contacting the clinic so they could refill my dogs prescriptions because they tried several times and couldn't get through. Anytime I have to contact this clinic, I dread it because its like pulling teeth to get anything done with them. My ex had brought his dogs here and one of them was pregnant. I had written down exactly what food she got, how many calories she was intaking including the canned food we mixed in. The kibble she was on was a whole prey diet, high calorie brand. the vet said she needed to intake more calories and recommended Royal Canine Puppy. Not only is that food bottom of the barrel cause the only meat source it has is animal by product meal and the first 5 ingredients are various grains and soy but the puppy line had 100 calories less per cup than the adult food she was already eating. An animals diet is the most basic thing when it comes to their overall health. How can anyone trust what a vet is saying when they recommend food that contradicts their own recommendation? It also tells me that they aren't doing their due diligence in research and that they don't know what they are even recommending to someone. If I hadn't worked in the industry and in pet health and was some average joe taking the vets word. Id be spending a ton of money on a name brand food that is predominantly filler with a bottom of the barrel meat ingredient that in turn would make the dog loose more weight cause they would be given even less calories than what they were originally eating. How can anyone trust that the vet is doing their due diligence in research and providing adequate recommendations on something serious or on a larger health issue when their recommendations for something so basic falls short? I only stayed as long as I did because I was moving out of state and the wait times at another clinic were so far out. If I had stayed in Missouri, I wouldn't have stayed at this clinic nor will I ever be recommending others go here. I'm not sure how this clinic has as high of reviews as they do.
