I highly recommend South Shreveport Animal Hospital for anyone looking for a caring and professional veterinary service. The staff are very sweet and friendly, and they treated my dog Dakota with utmost gentleness and compassion. Dr. Callahan was very knowledgeable and thorough, and he explained everything clearly and patiently. He gave me cost effective options and a realistic treatment plan for Dakota's cracked tooth and mammary tumor. I was very impressed by the quality of care and the reasonable prices at this clinic. Thank you, South Shreveport Animal Hospital, for taking such good care of my elderly dog!

Dr Calahan is so caring, thorough, and loving with Dixie Rose. She doesn't mind going to his office and is entertained by the fish in the aquarium while waiting. Best vet experience ever.

This place was great the Doc and the crew stayed late to take care of my dog and did everything they could to help. Price was very reasonable also. Glad I found this place and will be coming back in the future

I had an amazing experience! Dr. Porter is amazing! She took so much time explaining everything to me and helping me with my pup! Prices are very affordable and I definitely have found my new veterinarian!!!

I think Dr. Porter is awesome and we would love to have her be our Cat's Vet unfortunately her front desk staff is a NO go for me. Particularly Bailey, first off every time I've called when they answer they say "can you hold please" I typed "say" because it's not a question, you don't get a chance to answer. They put you on hold and leave you on hold, I witnessed it while there today. She never came back and like I've had to do Everytime is hang up and call back, smh. I Wonder how many potential customers that has lost them?? I was a receptionist for 15 years one of those jobs included a veterinarian in Houston I worked with for 4 years until she had to move. I was in a duel role as receptionist and vet assistant. It wasn't always easy answering phones while doing labs or mixing meds but I was always polite to our clients no matter what!! I just can't abide rude receptionist it's a pet peeve of mine. When I walked in she didn't even look at me just said "name" I told her "what do you need?" I said we're here for an appointment "go to exam room # 2" or whatever just very...short with me. Maybe it's a small thing to other folks but to me it goes against what being a receptionist is!! You are the essentially the face of that business. You are the 1st and last person they see and you should be polite! Even maybe come to the door and walk us to the exam room. Maybe make eye contact and smile, she's young and maybe just having a bad day but I don't think she should be at the front desk. Just my opinion but hopefully this review is seen and this issue is corrected. It's a shame when a good doctor has a not so good front desk team. Her assistant was so sweet though unfortunately I didn't get her name.
