We called the Billings rescue mission from Great falls in May till this to come on down that they have room for us. We spent nearly $500 bus fare and things that we needed for being at the mission. When we got there they asked if we had medical insurance I don't have medical insurance they told me to go apply for Medicaid I told him I was denied. So we couldn't check in to the Montana rescue mission. They wouldn't even let us keep our baggage there inside while we went to find shelter elsewhere. They wouldn't even let me use the bathroom. They don't even feed the public. We found a place that's privately owned in an old motel. It's transitional housing. They're christians. The Montana rescue mission is just like the Great falls rescue mission. They lost their Christianity. They take Medicaid if you have it and that's the only way you can get in with insurance that way they charge Medicaid for you being there. What would Jesus do.

Stuck across the US with bad tires and no gas. I ended up in Billings late at night. Came to the shelter and they gave me a jail bunk with no blanket, no pillow, and only a half sized cusion. I was told I couldn't even bring my own blanket or pillow and I had to leave by 5am. After 5am I was not allowed back in the building till after night fall the next night. I asked to use the rest room the next day and was told no. After a week of living in my car in the middle of Montana winter I did find work on my own. I returned to the mission and asked if I could do some laundry and maybe shave and shower myself to make myself presentable for work. Again I was denied. This location left me cold, hungry, and without any usable assistance. Again this place did not feed me, denied me access to shower, laundry, and even simple restroom services. I do have to give credit where credit is do. They did offer me the most basic shelter from the ailments for a very short period of time. It honestly makes county jail feel like a 5 star hotel, but it did at least keep me out of the far below freezing weather for 2 and a half hours before sending me back into the freezing night. If your in Billings and need shelter I suggest grabbing a rock and throwing it through a store window and just waiting for a free ride in a flashy car to a place that will be a much more comfortable and accommodating. (Note: this sounds like sarcasm but trust it is not. I'm not even exaggerating). The only other good thing I can say is that the staff is very polite. 1 star. From me. A motivated homeless person trying diligently to better his situation was in need of very easy and basic help, but found none here. They do have these facilities available, but only to a very small fraction of the homeless community. alot of tax money wasted with little to show for it. Take a lesson from your neighbors over in Gillette WY. They now how to help their vulnurable parts of their population. If you can make it there I suggest going there they will help you turn your life around. Here in Billings your very liable to freeze to death some time between 5 to 8 am.

I used to drive past this place all the time. Seems like a great place! Remember to take your 3 daily walks after your meals to keep healthy!

When I suffered a head injury from being assaulted and got robbed all my money, and then car jacked. It was hard to even think to be honest, nobody would help me out, I had nowhere to go. They gave me a home for 3 months, did my laundry for me, fed me 3 meals a day, a real bed to sleep on. Even a case manager and counselor, provided all my hygiene products and clothes. When I got my apartment, they bought me a TV and stereo and furniture and clothes. Even if I could've sought help from others, it was nice to be away from bad influences and to be able to work, really appreciated everything, literally would've died without them in the snow starved they're the only thing that will save you if a crisis happens

These people stole from someone who they just assumed was stealing. When the person that gave those items to the man came in the store to explain the situation he found out the items taken were immediately resold. So not only are they overpricing donated items but they are taking advantage of the same community they say they care so much about. CAPITALIST CRIMINALS.

Horrible place to stay. No safety from other people and others walk all over you. Staff do nothing to protect others from being harmed emotionally. The rules that are set do not get followed and enforced. Electrical outlets hang from the walls which is very unsafe. The food is outdated by a week or more. Makes me very sick. Case managers do nothing to help me and I have done all of the groundwork to find somewhere else to live. Staff are very rude and very unsupportive. AVOID at all costs. Not a safe environment in any way.
